This is for Worms Armageddon, newest patch.

I have to minimize often during the game, while playing on WormNet I mean, and most of the time, trying to bring the game up from the taskbar again works, but all too often it just doesn't come up, and turns out to be nonresponsive. I have to force it closed then, ending the game I was hosting, which is bad. I need to minimize during play, though, often, so my question is, is there some factor or any factor that'll increase the chances of successful un-minimizing/maximizing?

Only if you run it on Linux (but if you do that, Linux has its own set of problems running worms).

Its an operating system, another alternative to running your PC with Windows :)

I'm not sure if I'm going to look into another OS, so if anyone knows how I can make minimizing and maximizing WA more efficient with Windows, please let me know. Thanks

I find it happens extremely rarely if you minimise for short ammounts of time. So if you have important minimised business going on, switch to the game every so often if possible. Otherwise don't minimise.

Yes, minimizing for short periods only will most likely bring it back correctly.
Other than that, it's quite random.

Most of the time I only have Winamp running while playing W:A, but I have had lockups there too, when I just wanted to change the playlist...

I have been able to extract the logfile of the current game while minimized a few times though.
Starting a second instance of W:A while minimized is a no-no.
