Is that true? I can't believe Wario's in it! I like the idea of those Smash icons, like how Mario grabbed one and unleashed an Spiral Fire Blast. And you know how it is stated for 2007? I think, since Nintendo is trying to get the Wii by Thanksgivings in the States, they might release the game by Christmas in the US to get big sales in the US and maybe Canada. It is possible that the 2007 given date is the Japanese, Europeon and Australian release of the game.

Anyway, on the subject of new characters, I'd say the most likely conteders are Baby Mario and Diddy Kong.

But I'd love to see Paper Mario and maybe some warioware characters.

Sonic would be nice, as long as he didn't speak much, and Crono from Chrono triger.

It would be nice if they could change some of the existing characters this time as well. Mario, Luigi and Dr Mario are almost identical, it'd be nice if they could play differently this time. a gannondorf that isn't just a pointlessly slow version of Capt. Falcon would be good too.

It would almost work... The baseball bat as the smash move, up-and-B to firepunch (which would regain your height, naturally), and you'd maybe have grenades, much as Link has bombs. But I think worms have too many projectile weapons and not enough cloase-up stuff to work properly in a fighting game. Perhaps the flamethrower could be in there. He'd have to be slow, I suppose, to counter things like that.

Eh, SSB people can just invent the simple close range hand-to-hand combat stuff. I think they've done that a lot in the past.

As Phillby said, Chrono would be a really nice character.

Other stuff I'd like to see character-wise would be Black Mage from the original FF on the ol' NES (that'd be bloody awesome), or any of those characters. Fighter would be nice too. And maybe the main character in Bionic Commando, I forgot his name. Also, Sigma or Wily of Megaman fame, Eggman or any other villains, if they're bringing in third party characters why not bring in third party enemies, too? Also, Square might be less strict now seeing as they're getting along with Nintendo, so they could add in some Mario RPG characters such as Geno and the frog/cloud guy, whatever his name was. And if they're getting Capcom support I'd love to see Zero in, in either X or Zero design.

Level-wise, I'd love to see some SMW2: Yoshi's Island stuff, the fact that Yoshi's Story got in the past ones and Yoshi's Island only got a few trophies is really annoying. Same goes for SMB3, that only got a song remix in the past SSBs, while it has LOADS of potential items and stages. And hell, Snake in a tanooki suit would be the best thing ever.

As for the gameplay, there are some stuff that might need tweaking. The screen SHOULDN'T focus on the attacker in a multiplayer game when a super attack is used, it'd get quite annoying at times, unless the attack affects ALL characters. Also, I'd like to see some character-specific final bosses. Like, Dedede for Kirby, Wily/Sigma for Megaman/Zero, Eggman for Sonic and the like.

As for Boggy B, no offence, but he isn't that well-known as other characters that had Nintendo outings, so I highly doubt it. But just for the heck of it, I think the flamethrower should be a super/brawl/whatever move.

Paper Mario would be cool. I would like it if they mixed graphical styles...

The first Metal Gear game that came out in 1987 was released two years later on NES.

Ok, Flamethrower covers B. Fire Punch is the only possible choice for up+B. Grenades could work for down+B (Dynamite, Mine, Drill could also work..there are more than enough possibilities for this one). I'm going to suggest Dragon Ball for right+B. That covers the specials.

Baseball bat is fine for smash-right+A. I'd like to see the drill in there somewhere (smash-down+A?). Otherwise, I don't see a reason why anything else needs to be from the worms games.

The real challenge is coming up with normal ssb type moves for A that fit both worms and ssb. They don't have to be from worms games, but they do have to be convincing.

It doesn't matter how popular he is as long as he fits.

Mallow was the frog (who doesn't look AT ALL like a frog) from Super Mario RPG.

For character-specific bosses, they would have to make that many extra characters, and I don't think it'd be worth it just for single player. Historically, all of the special single-player characters that you can't use but can fight have been "real" characters that the frontend doesn't allow you to use (fighting polygons, metal mario, master hand from ssb; fighting wireframes, master hand, crazy hand, giga bowser from ssbm).

HELL YEAH, cell-shaded would be pretty awesome. With all the WW haters out there, online would be the best thing ever. :p Also, headset support would be both annoying at times AND amusing. And for more gameplay stuff, you should be able to do all the gameshark stuff like having different-sized characters in multiplayer. And last thing, there should be more scrolling/huge levels like Hyrule Temple, Big Blue and PokeFlight, the maps shown in the trailer looked quite boring.

-characters from Golden Sun (GBA rpg game (quite good)) something like zelda's attacks (psinergies)...
-Dedede would be good... something like bowser, but can float like kirby... strange mix...
-dry bones... I love the character... but I don't know how to fit it... maybe if done properly...
-those baddies from smw2 with a mask... I loved those...
-a new version for some characters... like paper mario, sword kirby (like metaknight vs kirby), donkey kong jr., (I even though of suitess samus :O but they are too fast), young zelda, or retro mario (maybe not as good... few moves :p).

-and new suits like:
Baby mario or baby luigi for yoshi (yes, on his back)O_o
Mario all stars suit (black with that hat... search on google :p)
mech mewtwo (I once saw a pic of him with mecha parts... I think it was t he anime... so official to a certain point)
mario sunshine's suit... with hawaian shirt and sunglasses (you get it in the game)
peach more detailed from daisy (in ssbm, one of peach's suits was daisy) so it looks like another person... with the same attacks :p
and so on...


and as for the scenaries... I think metaknight's battleship, if in movement, could be awesome.

in other news, it IS good to hear that the carbon copied characters from SSBM will get their own set of moves. ganon being a retardedly slow capt falcon was just useless. dr mario was no different from regular mario, and I pity anyone who seriously played pichu. a couple of them were different enough to make a difference in some small way (roy/marth or fox/falco were combinations that at least made SOME distinction between the two twins).

You wouldn't believe how fun a game with Pichu can be on SSBM... With friends, of course.

Let's say that his Smash-B, fully charged, is like a missile, you go through all the place, and if you hit something, you send it flying. Well, a friend just takes Pichu, and spams it on the sides of the Mario Bros 2 arena... and if one of the 3 brawling in the middle goes up a bit... Pichu basically kills him :) And it's more fun than it seems... (and Pichu's heart attacks in stamina mode are just hilarious XD)
