Keep it un-coloured from now on. It ruins the whole picture, first now I realized that it actually was worms =P j/k It is improved though still needs improvings, use a pencil so you can remove all "unused" lines. Give the worms eye brows so they can make expressions for you easier.
One more thing, keep your art in one thread this time and bunch an improved picture everyonce in a while (I hope I wont regret saying that =P)

Gradients = BAD.
The smoke and wound look bad because of this rule. Also, the hand holding the gun has really tiny fingers.
All that said, I rather like the worm on the left. And I know most people hate your sickly grey color, but I rather like it.
You know, it's rather strange that that digital drawing is vastly superior to your hand-drawn one. Normally it's the other way around.

No, I meant the decent art.
It is better than before but the worms are still 2D and now they are green. There's no detail on the worms. Also, don't use gradients. The shading is poor, the dark shadows on the backs of both worms suggests the gun is a light source, which is just plain ludicrous.

http://img87.imageshack.us/my.php?image=worms5ds.png
Definetley getting better, but...
1: Don't mix sining colours with basic colours (blood and smoke)
2: The eyes of the left worm should be at the right of the eyeballs, rather than the centre.
3: The hand and gun are out of perspective. Look at your hand, with fingers touching. Notice how each finger has a different length, and not simpy shaped either. Then, find a picture of a gun, and compare the shape to yours.
4: The shading was done badly. The shading should be the same colour at the left of both worms.

Why? Even if you don't like slick's style you gotta admit that it has some real animation in it and not only silly tweenings... and the only part that kinda sucked on slick's movie was the first one... the last one was pretty damn random and funny...
And hey, at least they're all better than all of MY flash movies.

Call it a prejudice, i don't care, but i still like yours better than luke's... :D
To me, "if you can make it good, don't make it at all"... :p
But it's all a matter of taste afterall... personally i found luke's attempt to make a random animation pretty bad... he forced a lot of things (the whole thing to be precise) while random jokes and stupid things are usually fun because they're natural... (that's probably why i can't make random stuff... i always think too much before even start making stuff... meeh...)

The first time I saw it, it was rather funny, because I didn't get any of it.
But now I know what the jokes mean, and it's kinda lame now. :p
Though at least I found it funny once.
And I know that there are people that find random stuff like what was in Slick's animation funny, but I'm not sure it really deserved 2nd place in the Draw HK compo.

As a general tip:
Keep working on your art until it actually looks good. Try to take as few shortcuts as you can.

And neither your art or your maturity is good enough for you to make a flash animation, so stop trying. Perhaps after a dozen pictures or so, but not now.

Flippin' Shadow. Done more harm than good, he has. If he'd just been restricted to SA2, and had stayed dead, it might have all worked out. Instead we have to put up with him coming back and getting all "what is my purpose in life?" on us. Meanwhile, genuinely interesting characters like Tails* seem to have been getting their character development knocked back ever since Heroes.
* Sorry to go on about it, but let's look at the facts:
Sonic 2/3&K: Hanger-on. Occasionally does some piloting work.
Sonic Adventure: Takes his plane expertise and becomes the good guys' resident techie, developiing better planes, building a workshop. Begins thinking about his dependence on Sonic and wanting to prove that he can make it on his own. By the end of the game, has saved Station Square from being nuked by the Doc and is feeling rather proud of himself.
Sonic Adventure 2: Has developed the Tornado into a sort of all-purpose transforming walker thing, gets to fight the Doc directly while Sonic has his hands full with Shadow, breaks Sonic out of prison, becomes the goodies' all-round science guy. Has come a long way from the days of Sonic 2, where he just followed Sonic around like a groupie.
Sonic Heroes: And it all goes out the window.

That's because stories now days have nothing else to do but have a dead character come back to life to find his purpose... only to find out that

1. The lines are too thin. (However, in your digital works, theyre mostly way too fat)
2. Pupils look very sloppy.
3. Dont draw both eyes with one line. Make two circles touching each other, then erase the lines between them.
4. The left eye dont has to be cut by the outline of the worm. You can also give the eye an own outline, so it forms a good circle, but goes slightly out of the actual worm outline. I draw eyes like that for example, and while surely not being realistic, it still looks better than cutting the eye, imho.

Your worm drawing is okay now. Trouble is, it's no better than okay. So you either need to back your art up with good writing (which, from what I've seen of your writing so far, isn't an option frankly) or continue to improve your art (for which, see the people who are actually good at art critiquing).

A lot of my early worms had the expressions drawn from the front (even if they're facing the side). This meant no overbite. I didn't start drawing proper mouths for a while, and I it was even longer before I put in noticable overbites.

It's because the lines on the worm are thinner than any of the other lines.
