Which graphical platform do you like best? 2D or 3D?

IMO:
My self I play the old 2D games, I never really like the 3D enviroment. The 2D makes it so simplistic & fun to play, 3D never tickled my fancy on these type of kill-time games.

This has been discussed so much, however I do prefer the 2d versions of Worms.:).

Lol/ It seems that I am the only person who prefers the 3D version of the game. Anyway I love the 3D cuz it's more complicated than the 2D. The 2D version it's easy and kinda boring after u played 3D. Anyway this is my opiniond :D.

Yea u vote 2d cuz it's more easyer than 3d. This I can call noob. 3d is more advanced and fun than 2d. And the animations are more interesting. Tell me something that better in 2d than 3d. :D

Wormsnet works for a start.
Better community on 2D.
WA patches more consistant that 3D.

Side view aiming relies on working out parabolic tragectory, 3d FP view doesn't allow this.
2D maps can be more complex and allow for more tactics as....
There are no digging tools in 3D.
More worms and more teams allowed in the 2D games.
More weapons in general.
Better game customisation through schemes and map editor.
Mission editing and scripting.....

So just because someone disagrees with you, you call them a noob? 2D is easier I suppose, but it allows for more destruction with its weapons. In Worms 3D, the Armageddon weapon is just slightly more than a nuisance. In the 2D games, you had better whip out your pneumatic drill and dig DEEP if you have any hope of survival. And that was often with 1 or 2 worms left, if you were lucky.

Girders as well. In 2D you could use the girder as a bridge, a passageway for grenades and mine strikes, and as a protective thingy, but the girder in 3D is just a joke. Worms is so much more strategic in 2D because it's actually more challenging without being harder, if you get my drift. Also: A girder in 3D completely disappears when destroyed, and is either destroyed or not destroyed. In 2D, the amount of girder left varies with damage.

I could continue with almost every other weapon, but I don't feel like typing.

I think they are both good. It all depends in what kind of mood I am in. The 3d worms games I usually play with a group of friends and the 2d worms I usually play 1 vs1 or against bots. 2d is better than 3d in lots of ways but 3d dose still have some good points to it.

There's another reason I choose 3D. I'm used to W4's controls (WASD) instead of the arrow keys now

Hmm let's say that 2d is more strategic but it boring to play on a 2d game. I got bored (I have beaten 3 times the elite). In 3d the maps are more complex and yes u cant save the map but u can write down the nr of it :D. And yea there are some weapons missing in 3d and the grinder is f****d up but they putted other weapons instead like blowpipe or megamine.
But let's not fight and argue on this theme. Better friends than enemys. And everyone have theire own opinion sry if I tryed to change urs. Cya

That's supposed to be a BAD thing, as 99% of the time, the opposition is completely defeceless and can't do anything about it, so it's next to impossible to lose if you have armageddon.

I see your point, but you dont win with armageddon, you open up the game for an almost garenteed draw. Or at the very least a completely random choice for who wins.

3D if it worked. So I voted 2D.

I don't use the armegeddon when I get it, I tend to save it for when there's no hope of me winning.

just take a look at the original games... there awesome even tho there 2d O_o im aware of wolfenstein 3d having a huge fanbase but it was only because A) it was completely diff from whats normaly done b) pretty much the first 3d shooter game

2d games rock due to there simplicity and general lack of things that can go wrong bug wise.

keep the game atleast = as fun as Worms 2. (the game has loads of weapons and options to adjust yet its still simple enough for a quick game.)

i loved it and had great fun on the 2d games i had fun on worms 3d but not as much but 2d is better for the worms games in my opinion

I think Worms 4 is by far the best Worms game available. It's pretty, it's smart, controls are the best, design is modern and 100 of other things. And I've played 2D Worms for a very long time! I'm still playing WWP (my favorite 2d Worms game) online, but online feeling in Worms 4 is so much better and relaxing..

2D Worms are cool, but the time goes on, Super Mario doesn't live in 2D Castle anymore (OK, on some platforms he still does :o), and when the time is come for making Worms 5, my vote goes to 3D!

Well, the poll was not about opinions on wich Worms kind is the most popular and played, but what they personally think about them.

Hmm. Maybe we've interpreted the word "diverse" differently. I took it to mean that the 2D games had more varied play and better replayability, but some people don't find that. Some people are more at home in a 3D environment and get a little frustrated by 2D, or whatever. That's the part I wasn't sure was "obvious fact". To be honest, I don't know about the popularity thing, either. I mean, the vocal Worms community and the total population of people who've bought the game are not the same group, by any stretch of the imagingation.

I vote for 2d worms because its a lot more fun than 3d worms.

I voted for 2D worms. I really enjoy playing WWP.
