For those of us who don't plan on return our copies of WOW, we need a way to deal with the 'unselectability factor' of gameplay. Fortunately, T17 gave us a seed generator for the maps. When the map pops up, select the X button which will lead you to another menu, instead of clicking regenerate, click enter code.

I don't know if the DS and PSP versions of the generator are different, but this thread will be about the 'codes' entered. Therefore, you can have better control over what you're going to be playing on. If you have the code for a good map, double check it, and then post it here.

I don't think the terraign type (jungle, london, hell) matters for the shape, but the addons will.

DS: Jungle: 633670821--A single island with a hump in the middle. There are hilly protrusions everywhere and the soil isn't very much higher than the water. The only way to knock people off is on the sides of the island or if a hole is created.

DS: Jungle: 18005555555--Two islands with a gap between them. (In the London version, a teacup partially blocks the gap.) The left island is very steep, while the right island is mostly flat, but higher up from the water than the left is.

DS: Jungle: 18008008000--A single blocky island that has few protrusions, but many addons. The whole island is high up from the water, meaning the whole island is one big attackfest.

Is this a good idea or not?

When the map selection comes up, click the X instead of the check to enter the map menu and click enter code. Then enter some random number, preferably one that might be easy to remember and see if the map looks good. I'm not sure if the DS and PSP have different seed generators, so that info is important. Also, the terraign type is important because of the different addons that are put on it.

DS: London: 23464--Another map with two islands. These islands have a big gap in the middle. The left island is slanted with no real steep part on it; the addons help a bit. The right island has a few pits you could feasably keep worms in.

DS: London 12345--A single island with some major pits. This looks like it might be a good map to hurl projectiles back and forth in.

The only reason why I'm doing this is because I'm hoping a really good map will be found that can be used for fair fights instead of randomly ending up with all 4 worms of the same team a dinomite stick away from the water.

wow thanks guys, i can't wait to play "A single blocky island that has few protrusions", the map generator just never seems to create enough of those.

i was being sarcastic, there is nothing special about any of those landscapes. All you have to do is hit the button a few times and those maps that you described are going get generated

But the (only?) advantage of being able to list specific maps is that if you were to miraculously get a tournament together () and wanted standard maps and wanted them to be known before hand so people could 'practice.' However, the limited scope of the game makes this mostly useless. If you were instead able to play online, this would actually be quite useful, but then we'd have preset maps, so it matters not in either case...

In previous versions of worms there were also special codes for funny shaped maps, such as a map where the scenery forms 'TEAM17' or the statue of liberty or something.. did anyone find one of these yet or knows for sure whether or not these kind of codes are in the game?

Yay!

Hoorah for terrain seeds! I'd like to have drawn maps with the stylus but seeds are a welcome addition :)

As b00kwurm says, it'll be cool to find (if they exist) easter egg codes with special maps.

I look forward to seeing what people find....

I thought that was only in Worms1.

I hope it isn't too late to bump this, but here's mine (PSP version) :
(I also noticed that the shape of landscape remains the same in any theme!)

BAFFALAND- two islands, some sharp corners, nice placement of prefabs. Best played on Arctic theme.

NOGOODIES- A massive mess of land, some drop-down canyons and nice hiding spots.

More coming soon, once I get my PSP recharged.

More, from the PSP version.

BEERFORME (Best played at London theme) : Two-floor cavern. Moderately good for roping, the lower floor is harder to navigate thanks to water (which makes it look like a sewer level). Easy to make superior kills.

NYMPHWOOD (You guessed it, best for Forest)- Cavern, perfect for roping and the landscape itself is really good, although it may have too many open spaces.

BADTEMPER (Played on Hell theme, dunno how it works on other themes)- Another cavern level, lots of prefabs like skulls and tridents. Worms are often packed up together in this map, and combo kills are easy to make. Goes downhill and uphill at some parts. Good for roping too.

853513001 (Space)- I'm not sure if the code is correct, but this was one of the best landscapes I've seen in the whole game. The terrain has lots of variety and there is a C-shaped downhill cliff at the middle of the terrain. Anyway, this was definately one of the best generated terrains. Should work on DS version too (unless both systems use diffrent codes).

GEORGEBUS (Tropical)- A two-floor cavern. Some holes that could be used for darkside tactics.

VENGEANCE (Arctic)- Another two-floor cavern...
