I'm just wondering if anybody has any ideas for new weapons for Worms 5.:)

I thought of one.
Auto Insurance:
Type: Strike
Payload: Car
Max Damage: 100
Delay: 4 turns
Description: This weapon drops a random automobile on our pale pals. The Smartcar does 25 damage, the Honda does 50 damage, the SUV does 75 damage and the eighteen-wheeler does a massive 100 points of damage. The more damage the auto does, the rarer it is though. If you were the see the weapons factory on it, everything (excluding clusters) would be set to full. Though worm damage is even higher.
How about this:
Viking Raid.
Type:Strike
Damage:90 Damage
A big viking ship sails in the air, and drops viking worms, which move and attack the nearest worm. It drops about 3 vikings.
Very Rare though

A flying saucer comes down and shoots a laser at the enemy worm.It also leaves fire on the ground around the worm.

Weapons... hmmm.... alright, here is a idea...
Rabid Kitten
Damage: 10 a turn
Strike
A plane flys by a drops a kitten, looking cute at first, it will wonder around a little bit untill a worm is near, then biting and scratching it while the worm gets pushed around, dieing either when 10 turns is up, or he falls into the water. The rabbid kitten then explodes and deals 40 damage to near by worms.

When used, the enemy worm that is the closest to the one using it will be hypnotized, and will stay on his side for a few turns.
Boombox + Microphone
Type: Weapon
You can drop a boombox anywhere on the landscape. when you use the microphone, it will be triggered, damaging and paralyzing nearby worms.
And maybe...
Ghost Costume
Type: Utility
When used, the worm will wear a Ghostly costume. he can fly and is able to phase through the landscape. (2D only, i guess)

Type: Air strike
Drops leaflets that persuades the worms in the targeted area to join your team. (unless its your own side obviously)
Can only be used once per game in story mode though.

Inflatable boat
Type : Utility
Worms can use this to drive on water for 30 secs each turn. A little timer appears at the bottom of the screen. Everyone can use it. If the time ends and the worm is in it, it explodes like the Inflatable Scouser doing 40 damage for enemy team's worm and 20 for the team's worm, who made the boat, when it explodes at coast the worm can stay alive... Automatically explodes after 6 turns. If flood comes, the boat may swim away for itself. Good for landscapes with islands.

*Cries* for christ sake guys! read the old threads! I've not read a single weapon here yet that wasn't suggested and turned down due to 100 or more good reasons why it wouldn't work.
if you're going to suggest weapon ideas, look through the old threads to some extent to see that the ideas you have are the EXACT SAME as the ones everyone else has had....or at LEAST put some serious thought into the playability of the weapons before suggesting them.

I've seen some really good ideas here.
We all know about the Flood weapon and how much trouble it can cause, but I was thinking, how about this:
Sunstroke
weapon type: Air Strike
this weapon directs the suns "rays" like a magnifying glass. Damage done to worms depends upon proximity to the light beam.

Fairly obvious, but it can do a max of 120. Can be used through Bubble Troubles.
Bunny Attack:
Send out a bunny (just like a sheep ((and you can steer this))) and it will bite the first worm it comes in contact with. After a random amount of turns (if the worm is still living) he becomes a Were-Rabbit (this was inspired by Wallace and Gromit:Curse of the Were-Rabbit). This Were-Rabbit-Worm goes to your side and he is your minion.
Slap:
Think about it. The more advanced prod, not-so-fiery Fire Punch! Except: it's posionous.
I'm really bored, none of these will probably come into Worm's 5.

A bomb like that you drop out of a plane and if it hits a grave it will stay a grave for 3 turns then a zombie will come up from the grave which will run and jump after any worm even if you are the master it can bite you and then you turn into one also thay cant use weapons :Cure 4 hits with a shot gun in the head with a shotgun or any but it will take more shots it should be a suden death chosey thay all have 100 hp: how it works the zombie worms are a diferent team then you...
warning only use if you only have one worm left it will be a big hazard even for the master just to let you it not on your side its on the zombie side becuse it can jump higher and run faster at majer pases ...the rest is torn and is unreadable like resident evils notes :eek:

there needs to be not only twice if not three times the weapons of any previous worms game in Worms5 but there also needs to be weapon pack for W4mayhem in the interim, i mean for boggy's sake theres less weapons than ever in Mayhem.
but very important is MORE bazooka style guns even if they hardly differ in fire modes, like for instance a multiZooka six small tube strapped together in a wormy fashion that fire almost totally randomly in the general direction you point it, or how about a stikka canno like out of the Incredibles inside the control room they have these wierd black expanding sticky rubber ball cannons that stop the hero, well something like that stick's a worm to the landscape but from range, or just impede his movement.
anyway thats a small rant and some ideas, please mull

Frozen Puddle: The worm pours water on the land, and the water freezes. Then, when other worms go on the frozen puddle, they can't walk, and when they jump, they slip on the ice.
Magic Mine: (this is a weapon I made with The Fiddler for WA) This is a mine that detects only crates and weapons. The fuse time is instant, and the damage is high (holy grenade). So you can tail nail a worm, and then put a magic mine near him, and when he'll try to fire, the mine will explode.

but very important is MORE bazooka style guns even if they hardly differ in fire modeswhile I don't disagree that the two ideas you came up with are decent ones, I COMPLETELY disagree with the statement quoted. if you make 100 pistols that all shoot different projectiles that do damage varrying between 5-20 damage per bullet then you've just made the exact same weapon 100 times. weapons NEED to be different to a degree that they add something to the game with their use. if half the items in the game are almost identical it just gets annoying to select them all

If I understood, Team17 wanted to add the mortar in the weapon panel (see data\Hud\Weapons\pipegun.tga). But I don't think we'll see such a weapon for Worms 4. :(
For the Napalm Strike (or Molotov), it's possible to manage fire... by tweaking... :rolleyes:
And for guns such as uzi... really why did They remove it?
Team17 should keep all Worms Armageddon weapons (maybe excepted Pneumatic Drill and digging utilities...) :D

they should only add weapons that are new, but never take away old weapons that where perfectly goodnow THAT I'm with you on. however, in the cases of the petrol bomb and the napalm weapons of various sorts they at least had a legitimate excuse to take out. fire simply didn't work the way they'd need it to work for those weapons. the longbow is also another one that didn't work the same with W3D (though in W4 I think they could've gotten away with it as thin as some of those railing things were...granted, it's a bit iffy, so I don't condem them for NOT taking the chance). things like the minigun, magic bullet, and others really just had no excuse to be left out.

Here's what might b neat.
medicine: utility
heals 50 hit points to user.
So far the game had no healing items u could use save for later.
It'd be great to be able to heal without waiting for a new crate
to appear.

This special rod has a pink-colored orb on it. Use it on one of your team members graves and your perished teammate will be revived. There are 3 types of Revival Rods: Small (Gives revived teammate 25% Health) Normal (Gives revived teammate 50% Health) and Large (Gives revived teammate 75% Health)
Cluster Boomerang
You can use this a random amount of times per unit. When the boomerang reaches the target (it's a homing weapon) It drops a few clusters. After that, the item returns to the owner, except when the random maximum amount of throws is reached. then, it will fly off.

Hey, that's kinda a good idea!
The only problem with it though is that a normal resurrected worm can normally be snuffed out with a single bazooka. Especially when it's right next to the worm that resurrected it.

It seems wrong because it just acts the same as a portable health pack, except that:
1: It requires a worm to be near the worm to be healed
2: It prevents worms from losing that health instantly if the opponent uses an overpowered weapon.

I didn't say that the rod was the weapon to deal damage to thoe two worms.after reading back to the original statement twice I get what you're trying to say and I completely fail to see how it's at all relevant to anything. there IS a thing called retreat time, and even if not I fail to see how that would be a point that would make the weapon seems "wrong" if anything that's something that would make it better because it helps balance.

I like the idea of the revival rod, but 3 different types would fill up too much space on weapons menu (when you right-click) so maybe just having one type which heals around 35% would be a pretty good idea.
