This thread, that I hope to get stickied, is a thread about where to put flags/graves/maps etc that you download.

Flags
First, make sure your flag is the following:

256 colour (8-bit) bitmaps
20 x 17 px in size
2 kb

Then, put it in the folder you installed worms armagedddon \user\flags, e.g.:
C:\Team17\Worms Armageddon\User\Flags. You can then access these by clicking the arrow next to the list box under flags in the team editor

Graves
First, make sure your grave is the following:

256 colour (8-bit) bitmaps
24 x 32 px in size
2 kb

Then, put it in the folder you installed worms armagedddon \user\graves, e.g.:
C:\Team17\Worms Armageddon\User\Graves. You can then access these by clicking the arrow next to the list box under graves in the team editor

Maps
First, make sure your map is the following:

A bitmap, a targa, a bit file, a lev file, a jpeg, or a png file
64 colour is recomended
If the map is not BIT, LEV or PNG, 1920x696 px in size is reccomended so the map will not become distorted.
If the map is BIT or LEV, the file must be 1920x696 (I think).
If the map is PNG, it can be any size, so long as the dimensions are multiples of eight. The minimum size is 640x32. The maximum size of a cavern map is 32504x32600, and the maximum size of open levels is 28408x30552.

Then, if it has an extention of .bmp, .tga, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, put it in the Worms Armageddon\User\Import folder, e.g.
C:\Team17\Worms Armageddon\User\Import. You can then access these by clicking the floppy disk in the WA map editor.
If it is a .bit, .lev or .png, put it in Worms Armageddon\User\SavedLevels folder, e.g.
C:\Team17\Worms Armageddon\User\SavedLevels. You can then access these by clicking the arrow next to the list box in the WA map editor.

Teams
Make sure they are for WA
Put these in your WA\User\Teams folder, e.g.
C:\Team17\Worms Armageddon\User\Teams
IMPORTANT NOTE: Doing this will overwrite your teams. MAKE A BACK UP OF THE ORIGINAL WG.WGT file! You can then access these by choosing the team in the team arsenal.

Schemes
Make sure they are for WA
Put these in your \User\Schemes folder, e.g.
C:\Team17\Worms Armageddon\User\Schemes. You can then access these by clicking the arrow next to the list box when about to start matches.

Fanfares
First, make sure these are:

PCM,
11*025 Hz or 22*050 Hz;
16 Bit;
Mono

Then, Put them in your \User\Fanfare folder, e.g.
C:\Team17\Worms Armageddon\User\Fanfare. You can then access these by clicking the arrow next to the list box under fanfares in the team editor.

Speech banks
Make sure these are wavs, and preferably 58 files (though you may see 55 or 54 versions) (MORE INFO NEEDED). Then, put them into their own folder in \User\Speech
e.g. if you downloaded a speechbank called "test", you would download it, and put the files themselves in C:\Team17\Worms Armageddon\User\Speech\test (create it!). You can then access these by clicking the arrow next to the list box under speech in the team editor.

Files
As there are many files, please feel free to suggest more, and i'll add them to the list.
Most of Annelid's files need the required files and runtimes, avaliable on most good worms download sites. Then follow the instructions on the site where you downloaded them, then put the executable anywhere and run it.
Put WACE in your WA directory, then run it and run WA.
Put WA recorded games organiser in the place where you keep your recorded games, then run it.

That's partilly true, W:A can play 22,050 Hz (tested and verified by my humble self)

How do I make the flag 2 KB. It says 4.
Also, in my user menu "Graves" isn't listed

Muzer

Make sure you save it as "256 colo(u)r bitmap"
If Graves isn't there, add it!

Just create it then.

The image should be about 2kb, the colour depth should be 8bit (256 colours) and the size should be fixed at 24x32. With those settings your grave should be about 2kb.

Also, make sure you have the appropiate patch for each file...
Not needed for all, but yes for replays and graves. Someone say the corrrect version... I can't remember now...

And replays can only be viewed in a patched version newer than the one the replay was made on.

I took an already formated flag, brought it to Paint, changed it a bit, and saved it like that. It is still 8 bit, 20 by 17 pixel, and 1.38 KB. It says "4 KB on disk." Did I do something wrong?

The "size on disk" is taking into account slack space. See Cluster (file system) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cluster_(file_system)).
You are probably doing everything correctly.

Ignore that.

sO NOW WHAT DO I DO. Its 1.38 KB, 256 color, 20 by 17?

If this makes any difference, in the flags folder it is under "Files waiting to be written on the CD" I tried to drag it to the "Files already written on the CD" but it wouldn't go.

As to quote:

C:\Team17\Worms Armageddon\User\Flags.

And the CD is non-rewritable. You can't change anything on it.

Unless your C: drive is one of your CD drives, then the instructions tell you to put it on your HDD.

why wouldn't 1 wav work? i had my friend make me a really good soundbank and one of his funniest, kamakazie isn't working?

Muzer
2 Aug 2006, 14:36
Maybe they're the wrong type of wav. Go to sound recorder and open the file. If the "scope" bar works, the sound should work. If not, it won't

You could give the file to me so I can check it.

Put it in a zip and attach it.

Does this work in World Party?

Muzer

Should .

Espyo

Bah, I just discovered that it does work. I just couldn't see them because they were at the bottom of the list, and I had to press the "down" arrow to see further than dragging the "marker" would.
If that is the instruction in the first topic, I didn't understood.

1920 x 696 px in size is recomended, so your map will not become distorted (NB if the map is a PNG it must be 1920x696)

Needs to be updated ;)
A cavern map may be up to 32504 pixels wide or 32600 pixels tall; an island is limited to being 28408 wide or 30552 tall. The minimum map size is 640×32. A map's width and height must be divisible by 8.

Hmmm no one can hear my Fanfare, when im winning in an online game... does WA support compressed Wav btw.?

franpa
15 Jul 2007, 13:45
no, it must be uncompressed.

KRD
15 Jul 2007, 13:47
And in order to have other people hear them, they need the exact same files with the exact same file names in their Fanfare folder.

This should probably be added to the first post of this thread as it's not like that for the more popular Wormy files.

Thread unstuck due to it being referenced in the already-stuck "Unofficial FAQ", and not being of critical importance.
