Great artwork, not very funny, but good storyline so far. Its not just hilarious comics that are good, but comics with a great storyline are good too.

That last picture is quite nice. Although it seems his head is made out of pottery.

Why are Shadowmoon's glasses always changing?
I mean:
Panel 1: Regular half-moon, as it should be.
Panel 2: His eyes ONLY poke through the glasses, while the parts of the eyes outside of the glass are regular. Which also makes it look like he has his eyelids half-closed, resulting in looking both really surprised and really unsurprised at the same time. In a bad way.
Panel 3: The rims aren't connected to the lenses.
Panel 4: The lenses are missing completely.
Panel 5: To accompany the lack of lenses, one of the rims has been removed too.
Panel 6: ...Full-moon glasses? It's the only reason I can think up of why it looks like his eye is on top of the bandana.
Panel 7: Lenses are AWOL.
Panel 8: There's only one rim and no lenses again.

Oh gawd, the details. Yeah, the worm has a pretty thick skin and the cuts are perfectly linear, but I think it fits well with your sharp drawing style. It looks a little unusual, but it looks good. :p

Shadowmoon's grin on the 6th panel is priceless. And the last panel was awesome as well. The only problem here is Plasma, who looks pretty weird in my opinion. Dunno why, maybe his black cape is not visible enough. Other than that, really good. And I love the "evil idea".

Yeah I sketch them out in an HB Pencil and then go over them using a fineliner. It appears the fineliner I use is made in Japan D: but "Marqueur A Dessin" is French so don't ask me where the Fineliner's from because I honestly don't know XD

Also, Frank Worm = Win, so I forgive you for the lens flare.

Well... Angelus already pointed the flare thing so i'll approach the other points:

• There's blood on his face but on on his skull, brain and flesh. Also, the blood looks rather flat compared to the other parts.
• The worms seems to be made of salmon styrofoam. The cuts are too clean, steady and homogeneous and there's no trace of blood in there whatsoever.
• The inside of the worm's torax looks.... empty... :p
• You kinda missed the target by a few inches with your colouring there. The inside of the mouth, below the tongue, has a thin white line contouring the inside of the lineart, much like an inner glow.
• The overall shading looks too subtle and waaaaaaaaaay to blurry.

The impression i have is that this was a nice lineart but didn't quite fit a colouring job. It would've stayed better in its original. :)

Sorry if i was to harsh with the critiques... but it's the way we learn. :p

No your critique is always welcome. :p In fact it was exactly what I was looking for, as this is the first image I have ever tried to digitally colour in it's entirety. So any critique is welcome.

How does one shade well using photoshop? I've tried a few different techniques but again as you said the best one i could come up with is still far too blurry.

Any colouring tips would be greatly appreciated.

Cel shading can be easily pulled off by making shapes with the pen tool, but for softer shading it's a case of using a brush that isn't too soft, but not to hard either.

As for colouring, the best thing to do first is to clean up the lineart, and that can be done by different means but I'll let you in on the way I do it with hand inked lines.

I use Inkscape [kinda like to Illustrator as GIMP is to Photoshop], import my lineart to that, and use a "trace bitmap" feature to make a crisp lineart with no white in, just transparency. It'll take some goes to make it look as accurately like the original as possible, and when satisfied, save it as a PNG and import it to Photoshop. Optionally you can remove some ugly looking lines with the pen tool, selecting it and pressing delete.

Then you make a new layer to go under the lineart layer, and colour on that. In my opinion doing that is the best way to prevent the paint fill tool look.

I know I waffle but that's pretty much the way I do it.

I do it entirely different.

If i start on paper (which is becoming more and more rare) i scan the lineart on 200dpi and send it directly to photoshop.

There, on a new layer, i digitaly ink the whole deal as if i would be doing with a pen on paper. For that, i use a hard 19px brush with just the pen pressure afecting just the brush size.

Once that is done, i create a "flats" layer right below the new inked lineart one. There i lay all my flat colours. A good practice would be to make different layers for each "element" of your picture. You can divide them into colours or elements, but it's always good to separate things in different layers.

Then i create another layer on the top of the flats and set it to multiply. At this point i use the exact same colour i used for the flats to shade the picture. The multiply attribute will make the trick of turning it into shades.

This is basically what i do. Sometimes i add more layers for the shading, sometimes i use a soft brush with the pressure set to control the flow. It varies.

But i think one of your main problems there is that you didn't draw this pic thinking 3D. Which is fine unless you want to shade it. As you know, flats give life and shades give volume. When you try to give volume to something that was planned to be bidimensional, problems occour.

If you don't like cell shading and want to follow a "softer" style, i suggest you practice shading curtains and then some human faces. It's a good way to start to feel the softness.

Although quite different, I enjoyed the "eyes that do not care that they have a massive tumor forcing them out of the skull." Thats not meant to be sarcastic if it comes across that way, merely trying to explain it to myself in a way other than, "cuz thats what he drew."
