i have returned to the world of fanart!

i decided to make another thread, seeing as the old one died, and this 1 features a comic (or at least, it will do (it might not actually end, seeing as i have a tendancy to rarely finish things))

this thread will feature fanart, and comics.

i am not taking requests for drawings of forumers. worms are hard enough without damn custamisation

anyway......

the colours had to be edited, and i took out the crown from and old drawing splapp did of me

i draw in pencil, ink it in with pen, scan it in, and do any editing and colour on the computer

anyway, the comic might get finished, it might not

i havn't drawn worms proparly for a very long time. i'm outta practice

Nice, lots more suspence than these other crappy ones where you can tell that the makers are just straggling for a good joke or punchline, when in fact, they screw up pathetically. Nice.

most people use computer imaging programs to create art, no pens or pencils or anything, just the computer

i myself draw with a light blue pencil on paper, ink in with pen, then scan it onto the computer, and colour it on the computer

but that's just me

there is also some background info u need to know

the aliens (that's what i am (the green aliens)) have a rival

the rival are another speices of alien with another ruler (they'll probably be red worms)

that's who the other worm is in this section

the blood turned out better than i thought. it's amazing how much better things look when u shrink them

AK, I only see one problem with your art. On your first strip, it has some suspence in it. Same with the second. But dragging suspence about the same thing into the third one is a bit far...it's sort of overused, IMO.

the only reason the suspense is dragged on, is because of the small amount of frames in each part

i've just noticed, that if i change the frame duration from 5 to 6, the timing is better online

no, the fact that an image is pasted into certain frames in such a way is what lines em up

ok, before i post the next bit, u must know something

1. there are three worm species that will take place in this comic. Alien Worms (green, my kind) The other alien worms (not sure what colour yet , ruled by [insert name here]) and normal worms (u guessed it, pink)

so far, u have seen only the green worms (AK and others) and one other alien worm (the prisinor)

from now on, the green worms will be marked with some small diagonal lines, the other alien worms by small dots, and the normal worms will be normal (the marks will be small and out of the way)

2. A brief History lesson about the Other Alien Worms

The other alien worms have always been fighting with the Alien Worms (green). While they aren't as strong with their telekenetic powers in gerenal, they do have some worms who are very gifted. The other aliens depend more on their advanced technology (and if u think the technology AK uses is advanced, u havn't seen anything yet). The other aliens are generally not evil, but they do compete with the green worms.

i might edit this later, and i might post a poll asking on the colour the other alien worms should be

(Ixlelmekt was the worm AK was tortuing with salt, and fed to the Xenoworm)

this is the 1st half of part 8, the second bit hasn't been inked in yet

i'm gonna post a poll listing the colours i'll cope with

the green worms (the normal alien worms (the group that i rule)) are devoloping the Xenoworm. The other group of aliens sent a spy to spy on the green worms. the green worms captured him and tortured him, after he had found plans of the Xenoworm and sent them back to the other aliens.

the other aliens are now heading out to a space station to get an alien to rival the xenoworm

eyes are a real nightmare for me with my mouse

the picture was done in layers, 3 for the fire, 2 for the background, and one for the wraith, so the detail of the fire was not a priority. i did try to improve it slightly, and failed miserably

did a bit of experimenting with textures and so on. and then loading different models into file. i did manage to put this together. but i feel the starfighter model still needs improvement.

advice and ideas is greatly appreciated (i use blender for those that don't know)

that looks quite good, and the only improvement I can think of to make you like the ship more is possibly sharpen the ends of the wings. the roundedness isn't very normal for the wing of a starship.

i agree, but i can't seem to get that to work perfectly. i might give it another go

i don't know how to get nice glowing thruster effects though, so i improvised.

If that's his left hand, yes, the thumb is upside down; but if it's his right hand as i said in my post, it's an impossible position for an human been, and that doesn't look quite as his left hand by where it's positioned.

1. i made a mistake, i did intend for it to be his left hand, but accidently turned the thumb side of his hand upside-down

2. as you said, the worms do follow basic hand shapes of that of human beings, so there goes my excuse.

3. i've been around long enough to recognise constructive criticism, even if made on a simple mistake.

Just try to give the tail a little more consistence (it looks like it's made out off jelly) and draw the top outline a little straighter. Don't make those big wrinkles when the worm lean back...

i was experimenting with the tails in the 2ap and the preasure pictures.

anyway, i've found all the comic drawings, and i'll probably make an attempt to pick it up again. however i've forgotton what i was going to do next, so the storyline may take a little dip in quality for a bit until i get going again.

i've found a new light blue pencil that works well enough for me to use, and i was bored enough to actually draw!

i was going to use a more different approach to shading and such that may or may not have worked... turns out it didn't work very well (or i just screwed up)

i may add a background later and make it a bit more... flashy

Very good, great flame effect, but, is his teeth meant to look a bit dirty and messy?

i try and avoid having pure white in a picture now. although the teeth a little dark

Wel would you be able to make the white a little purer and the lines a little finer?

i work with the outline drawn on a piece of paper using a black pen. I then clean it up on the computer. Fine lines are difficult.

It'll probably help keep me going if you people requested drawings. Otherwise this thread will wither and die. As will my drawing skills.

It's also a way of motivating me slightly, which is always helpful.

Akuryou's dark fire flame doesn't emit light :p.

I was originally going to add a lot more detail into the eyes, such as flames and ghosts of 'dark' Akuryou, hence the size of the image. It didn't work out well though. I may try it again later though.
