I've just tried to play my first game online so I chose to connect by wormnet and then I had a choice between 2 more options "UK -2" or "Autologin".

Clicked once on autologin and then nothing happend. So I clicked on UK-2 and nothing happend. So I double clicked on Uk-2 and then the game crashed. After hitting my close button on my keybored (Equivlent to Alt+F4) I then gone a message saying "Please wait working".

And that was it. nothing happend after that and I had to close the game with task manager.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

K for the autologin it uses your Player Nickname, from the PLayer Information Bar. Thats found right under the box you clicked on with the two worms looking at the satellite.

You are saying its UK2...I thought it was Uk1 so I think you may need to go download the patches that have been released at http://wa.team17.com

Yes your right - it is UK1 but the game still crashes in the same way.

Never mind (again)
I got it working,

It turns out I'm a muppet.
Although I allowed my firewall to allow WA to access the internet it never asked me if I wanted to allow the incoming traffic as well, my firewall pops up with things like this and it was popping up in the background but because I could not minimize WA I could not allow it to connect.

So I had to manualy browse through my F secure program and find WA listed in there and change where it had "promt" for incoming traffic and change that to "allow" just like what it had set for outgoing traffic.

Now when I come accross this in 2 years time I would have allready solved the problem I will encounter and can avoid all this hastle. :)
