Here you go. As you can see, I'm a bit obsessed with Frog/Glenn from Chrono Trigger ;) .

I wrote a javascript to change it every time my computer boots up. There's all kinds of stuff in its list. Almost every cool image on my computer that fills the screen is there somewhere.

My desktop is plain dark grey, and I can't be bothered to change it.

Did you just put the script into the start up folder? And also, I thought .js is not allowed to change write any files. Am I wrong, or are you actualy accessing the windows config from the .js?

indeed, active content is a good feature, however it tends to make my backgrounds look pixelly, although it's been a while since I tried, maybe I was missing something.

I am sure there are programs out there that do something similar. My TV viewing program (I have a TV tunner in my PC), for example, can output the selected chanel on the background instead of the wallpaper. Not much of a reason to do it, though, since if you are working on something the windows would cover the bacground, and if you don't, you can just switch it into the full screen mode.

There was one I came across once, called 3DNA I think. It was cool, you could wonder round on this kind of space ship thingy. I've downloaded Y'z Dock from Major Geeks (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=2790), and it's sweet. It almost makes me wish I have a Mac. ;)

Here's a nice clean little wall I found over at Wincustomize.com. I am the type of person who likes having an uncluttered desktop (I currently have 7 desktop icons, not counting the Recycle Bin, which I still consider to be far too much), so this wallpaper was very nice for me.

Well, you can always put them all in a folder and put a shortcut to it on the dock. It helps me a lot, since i have a nasty habit to download all files to my desktop

here's my 2 cents. zipped the wallpaper since it's over 468x468 and i don't want to resize it down too much.
anyways:
- my wallpaper is always of the game i last got. thus it changes frequently :p
- i tend to keep my desktop organized. games on bottom, applications and stuff on top, and not too many icons so as to not clutter up the wallpaper. only frequently used stuff.
- to make the wallpaper better visible i make the desktop icons semi-transparent (they are fully visible when selected)
- cookie to who can guess the Object Desktop (http://www.stardock.com) applications i use. you can also try to guess the cursor and/or window skin, if you want. meh.

i have a super mario sunshine 1 (it's a pic of shadow mario) at the moment. (am planning on changing it)

It also changes the start bar. I'm still getting to grips with it (only got it earlier today), there are many good things but a couple of annoyances (very small ones though, and probably things I have overlooked).

I've got the trial version. Hopefully when it runs out I can just redownload/reinstall and add my theme again. I'm still editing it - I still need to find a nice Windows XP theme, I'm not sure if it can change the colours of the windows, and I also need to find a firefox theme which will fit in (the website seems to be playing up). Oh and find a nice cursor, but it's coming along nicely:).

By the way; I made mine using Ultra Fractal 4 (Google). Check it out - it's a great programme, albeit a bit confusing at first.

I've found an even better skin which has a cursor to go with it. The only problem is, the windowblinds file has normal text light grey/white. So anything in a box like the address bar I can barely read at all. Also when I went onto my website it had changed the black font to grey. I have tried editing the text colours using the window blinds editor but it's not changing what I want it to change so I don't know where the colour I need to change is in the menu....
