Very good progress has been made on the service patch and this is now in QA, awaiting approval from our people and also from Gamespy so it can go live. (You may have seen T17 people on testing this over the past few days, myself included)

The service patch solves the vast majority of problems encountered with online and improves the interface/usability substantially. It is *required* for online play and non-online players have no real reason to download.

Your patience is appreciated.

Further improvements and additions will be made to the online service once things have stabilised and watch out for further news and announcements.

UPDATE.

There has been a delay to release since we need to have approval from Gamespy prior to upgrading elements of the code/service. This was mostly due to some parts of the Gamespy Arcade code which we are obliged to support.

We were still awaiting this approval at close of work on Wednesday but we anticipate recieving clearance for the patch tomorrow (Thursday). Note that we're 8 hours ahead of Gamespy, which doesn't help our "communication windows".

Our apologies, the patch is all ready for release and we very much hope to get it out as soon as we possibly can.

The Service Patch is now available.

The patch upgrades W3D from v.1003 to v.1053 and includes Game fix amendments, Network feature additions and Network fix amendments.

Service patch 2 is now available for download. The service patch installation will automatically upgrade your version of Worms 3D to v.1073.

It is essential to upgrade your copy of Worms 3D for successful synchronisation with the U.S. release version.

There are a number of feature additions and fix amendments for service patch 2, all of which can be found in the downloadable readme.
