MtlAngelus
28 Mar 2003, 02:08
red leicester? and which one is that?

M3ntal
28 Mar 2003, 02:12
It's red. And yup, you guessed it, it comes from Leicester. I usually eat cheddar though. Does anyone know a way to cut Cheshire cheese without it crumbling everywhere?

MtlAngelus
28 Mar 2003, 02:14

M3ntal

MtlAngelus

the only ones i've seen are in a jar or however its called, in somewhat like a bar(comes in a little gray box) and in some sort of bottle like butter ones

MtlAngelus

I've never had american cheese. I've had red leicester. You haven't missed much! It's not even cheese, which means we went off topic! It's just about completely artificial.

Cheddar cheese is good. Still, no cheese compares to cheddarella! (mix of cheddar and mozzarrella)

my opinion on cheeses:
- Favourite: Saloio. it's a really and low smelling cheese, great to eat alone or with bread. i ate all of it's pieces in the supermarket on one of those "free tryouts" :p
- Second: Philadelphia. pretty good too. it's like butter, but it tastes like cheese.
- Third: Cheese Bars (don't know it's name). basically it's cheese ready to put in a hamburger and then in the microwave for melting. it's quite good, but removing it from it's plastic bag is hell, since it usually leaves the cheese into bits :-/

I like Stalton (might be wrong spelling)Brie or Cheddar the best, just tasted one weird cheese yesterday, it were one of those with wax around, yes it did cut away the wax first :p, it smelled like rotten fish, and It almost felt like it grew in the mouth, not my kind of taste anyway..

Cheese is yucky, since I'm not too keen the way it tastes. The funny thing is although I dislike eating cheese, I like cheese breads (freshly baked bread one), pizza with cheese and the NZ McDonald cheese on their burgers. I'm a werid person when it comes to eating cheese.

Paul.Power

I like mature cheddar cheese, and Philadephia, which is great on sandwiches. I also like Dairylea on toast.

Not too keen on mozzarella - every time I try to eat a pizza with it it, it tends to string out and so the cheese topping tends to come loose from the base. Cheddar-only pizzas are great though.

Once when I was eating a pizza with mozzarella, the cheese was hanging down my throat.( got stuck in my braces [yes, and they suck, too] so when I swallowed...) You don't puke when something goes to the back of your mouth, trust me.:p

(Well, maybe if you actually PAID me...). The fact that they called them a cheese product offends me, frankly. It's almost as bad as what passes for "chocolate" in this country. Bah, Cadbury's have never even SEEN chocolate.

you can talk of Burguer King and Macdonald's ones

I've bought a big 700g block of Bergbaron (http://www.schlemmer-atlas.de/lexica.php?kaese?Bergbaron) ("mountain baron") today.
Probably my favourite. A mix between Emmentaler (aroma and holes) and Gouda (softness).

I do not really like cheese. Sure, it is a valuable ingredient for some things, but I cannot just eat cheese. Because it is yucky and icky.

I usually buy cheap cheese because i'm a student. It's not too bad if you melt it, but it's pretty foul otherwise. One day i'll be able to afford decent cheese....

Has that one day arrived yet?

Hah! That's my current reason for cheap cheese. Asda's smart price cheddar could be carved into bouncy balls if you felt the need.

One of my gripes is when you buy a pizza only to discover it appears they didn't even bother to cover it with cheese. Oh wait, no. There's a smidgen in the corner.

When I buy a pizza I don't want to have to use my own cheese to cover it, it should come with the pizza. What I do not want is a bit of crusty bread with tomato puree. That is not a pizza.

Hence I never buy Pizza Express. No wonder they choose to use boxes so people can't see the pizza itself.

Quite so. On an exchange year for university, since September. Just haven't been around enough for anyone to notice.

And we're not changing topic, are we? Cheese is seriously like a status symbol here. I actually went to an Italian restaurant where margherita was the most expensive pizza out of about 5 others.

Yeah, Japan obviously is too small to allow enough pasture for cows to graze, thus producing milk for the cheese.
