View Full Version : Keep replay playing while WA window inactive

While playing a replay, the WA window needs to be active for the replay to continue, it pauses whenever the WA window isn't active. This is using Project-X for the windowed mode.

Would there be any workaround to this behaviour? This would allow me to live stream replays...

Just keep the game window in focus then? You can use the in-game chat window to communicate with those you're streaming to! (If chatting isn't the issue then wtf are you doing that requires the W:A window to not be in focus?)

Now read my post again, this time slowly, word for word...

are you referring to D3D9Wnd? Just press Ctrl+H in-game.

Hi StepS, I'm using wndmode (for WA 3.6.31) since the games all use Project-X. Ctrl-H does not seem to have any effect there...

sorry I don't provide support for wndmode
also PX uses its own windowed mode in-game. wndmode only has effect in frontend. by default in PX you can see the game on background, but if it is a nonprogress one (offline, local, replay), it will animate but not proceed. however my D3D9Wnd is able to keep the game in any cases on background with Ctrl+H. the only thing lacking on both is the sound, but this is the default behaviour of DirectSound. sorry man

I see, so yea it isn't wndmode, it's PX of course taht handles the in-game windowed mode. Maybe it's possible in PX to have the replay continue while inactive? I guess i'll ask the question on the PX forum then...

I did, so start streaming then make the W:A window active and uh, bam you're streaming? Unless your stream application also doesn't work when out of focus which would be odd.

What is it that you are doing during streaming, that requires the W:A window to not be in focus? The only thing I can think of is text chat.
