Textual explanation maybe? I don't really get it either, that worm should have been knocked off the rope when it got hit by the other worm.

Very bizarre. Could you post the replay? I wanna see this in slow motion.

I'd be surprised if that had happened.

The worms affected by the sheep explosion just got pushed up that slope, I don't really see anything bizarre about this replay.
Am I missing something?

Still no one understand my problem: design explanation:

What makes this look strange is the vertical distance covered while sliding. The worms actually begin flying, but immediately start sliding 'up' the slope and losing their horizontal momentum. By the time the worms reach the top of the slope, their horizontal velocity is already 0.02 pixels per frame, but their vertical velocity is still above 8 pixels per frame. The easiest way to visualise what happened is to imagine that the worms were on a flat surface and received no upward momentum at all; the worms would slide a very short distance.

please describe your problem properly next time. in your video it also looks like the red worm transformed into green during flight, and converted back to red when it fell. if there are multiple issues, please tell them all.

There were two worms (red and green) at the same place. They got pushed by the sheep's explosion, reached the end of that slope and then flew upwards for some weird reason. Then, upon colliding with the roping worm, they flew downwards at high velocity.

Maybe one of the worms was slightly offset from the other and they amplified each other's movement when they collided with the slope and with the roping worm? That'd explain the weird and sudden increases in velocity.

I've just watched the replay and as I thought, this moment in the youtube video was just a lag caused by the recording software. There was no collision with the roping worm at all.

Yep, this is just one of those weird things that happen sometimes. When a worm slides over or under a diagonal ledge, there's a chance it'll get glued to the surface and fly off vertically (either upwards or downwards) at surprising speeds upon reaching the end of it. Nice one pulling it off with an explosion though, I've mostly seen it happen when swinging from the rope.

I have a similar but slightly less cool instance of it saved from a couple months ago and also a really cool old one by Wyv, but I'm having some trouble with file uploads right now, so I'll have to look for the replays after the issue is resolved.
