On the same topic, I've noticed a significant decrease in performance since the last patch on steam... it was related to figured I would add it in here...

The game occassionally runs very slowly for me as well. It's caused by a Steam issue involving the game overlay and for some reason W:R is the only game affected. so before starting W:R, I open task manager, look for "GameOverlay" in the process column and force it to quit.

Sometimes the game overlay doesn't close properly and causes W:R to lag significantly for whatever reason. Might be the same issue you guys have, let me know whether it fixes your issue.

I have the exact same problem. I just posted a thread about this too.

I tried this and it just opens back up.

Could you tell me how to please?

Go to the "Help & Options" menu, select video options and make sure it says V-sync disabled

try not to have 3 customizations at the same time on the worms... and lower shadow quality in the options menu / video options.... high shadow quality is always a cause for slow down in any game.

Its not just in-game, the slowness happens from the moment it loads the screen with the super sheep in the bottom right hand corner

im guessing you have downloaded the latest nvidia driver for your card? if you haven't, do that now and see what happens..........I'm running it fine now i disabled v-sync and I only have a GTX 260 ti ..... make sure audio drivers are upto date, sometimes bad audio drivers cause lag in games... if you have avast, try turning it off, or any anti virus program for that matter, in case its trying to block for some reason in the background... verify integrity of the game inside steam.... in case something got screwed up...

edit : can also check inside your mouse configuration and check settings there in control panel as well as checking up on any mouse drivers.... would like a full list of your system specs, and let us know if its a laptop or desktop comp, and what brand it is... try running it in a lower res, and or in window mode and see if anything like that makes a difference? turn off any windows themes like windows blinds stuff, object desktop if you have any of that, windows aero, just to pinpoint whats causing it

the only thing i can add... which isn't particularly good news... is that your graphics card isn't exactly top of the range, either...

is it a 405 or a 405m?

Just says GeForce 405 but the Can I Run It? website says it should work flawlessly.

never trust websites like that, they work on base minimum requirements for the game to boot... not requirements for the game to run at a playable speed.

GeForce 405 is a OEM card, slow one too (I think it's the same as 9600GT). GeForce 405m is even slower. That is probably the reason your game runs slowly, I own a 9800GT and I get like 20-30fps.

Agreed. I don't understand why this is an issue.
