the game has stopped working. it says my save file is corrupted and i am automatically redirected to a training mission i have never seen. What should I do?

it also appears to be freezing at the 'Match Results' screen after any match taht I have been successfully invited to.

Ya me and like 10 of my friends on 360 cant play the game. Wtf is going on team 17 where all about ready to call xbox for a refund this is bull crap. We paid to be able to play the game and as today 12/1/2012 its broke and no one can play the damn thing .We all tryed to delete everything redownload and the game is still broke freezes at title screen on everyone.

I just bought and I can't get past the training map.
The Xbox 360 completely freezes once you do the airstrike.
I've turned it off and on. I even deleted the game and reinstalled it.

Yep happening to everyone. My game is freezing too in the opening title screen some times it goes back to the opening begenning level but after you beat it it trys to save and then freezes me and my friends tryed everything from clearing the casha on hard drive and even deleteing everything with the game and redownloading it all still does not help fix asap or alot of people on xbox360 going to be calling microsoft up wanting there money back cause you cant even play the game you paid for thats bs

This appears to be an extremely large problem..hope it's settled after the weekend.

Got a small update yesterday and now at every autosave the xbox crash...
Save game file get corrupted.

- deleted the save game
- deleted the xbox cache file
- deleted the game
- reinstall the game

Now i can't play the game at all, at the 1st autosave i get the xbox crash even after what i did...

I just buy the game today on the Xbox Live!
I just do 1 mission, I stoped the game and launched the game 1 minutes after.
It say to me, that my save is corrupted to!
2 of me friends have the same problem!

I bought the game last night and I couldn't make it past the start screen. Things I have tried so that team 17 can maybe figure something out faster

1. Deleting the saved game labeled corrupt and trying again
2. Redownloading game
3. Trying different storage devices AS WELL AS making it only one storage device so that the selection screen didn't come up.
4. Running the game by having the corrupted save told me the save was corrupt and would be overwritten later. Right after, I was dropped into a tutorial mission, which upon completing froze when the autosave logo came up.
5. Tried doing all of this WITH AND WITHOUT the latest title update (patch)

Everything I tried ended up in a freeze when the autosave symbol appeared. Sorry for giant wall of text.

also to add, whenever i try and exit the training mission the game freezes completly and i have to restart xbox

at the end of every worms game, as soon as the battle stats come up the game stops working completely, and it has just corrupted a different profiles save data

great, spent ages on the missions and now its all gone

I was wondering what kind of company doesnt reply to this kind of issue. Im starting to look at this company diffrent now. Its been like this for 3 days and no one at team 17 or microsoft has an answer buy now i beleve i will never buy a product from team 17 ever again so desrespectfull to the consumer they dont even care the proofs on here with no answer after 3 days of the game not working its all over the net. There rep is going down fast someone at team 17 needs to get off there buttttttttt.

I have this problem too, and it's extremely frustrating after completing 29 of the 32 levels in the campaign, it was extremely difficult getting that far (for me at least) and that is all gone now.

I don't think Team17 can release a fix that will 'un-corrupt' the save files, the console definitely sees the file as corrupt and I don't believe that is fixable, but I could be wrong.

Anyway my save file is now gone, since I wanted to find the actual source of the problem and see if it's fixable - and I found a short-term solution.

This is good because now I can finally get the game running, although only for local play, so when my friends come over today we can play, using the trick that I'll describe later.

But first I want to explain how I figured out the problem.

I know it seems like the patch caused the problem - but I don't think that's the problem at all, based on my testing.

For example, I tried the following:

(1) Delete entire game from the console.

(2) Delete the corrupt game save.

(3) Go to the options for the hard drive, and delete the System Cache - this removes all patches (Title Updates) for all games on the hard drive.

(4) At this stage, there is NOTHING on your hard drive relating to Worms Revolution, it's as if it never existed. So now re-download the full game, but when you start the game do NOT let it download the patch. Now it STILL won't start, even though there is definitely no patch, it still creates a new corrupt save file!

So logically it seems the patch cannot be the problem. And since it seems that everybody started having this problem within the last 48 hours, it appears that a bug in the original (unpatched) game was lying dormant until this time and for some reason activated on a certain date.

And now it seems that I have proven my theory that the game breaks on a certain date, this is how you can test it (and get the game working again!)

(1) Disconnect your console from the internet (you need to do this to change the date on your console, otherwise it syncs to the correct date).

(2) Set your system date back to last month - don't worry about changing the day and year, just change the month back to 11.

(3) Delete your corrupt game save. (of course you'll lose all progress, but I believe there's no way of uncorrupting the file anyway)

(4) Start the game - it will work! So long as you stay off the internet so your date stays as last month, then it should continue to work.

Notice that this date-setting trick works even WITH the patch on the hard drive. In other words, the problem is not the patch, it's only the date.

it is the weekend still... so they are probably enjoying black hot tea and crostini's. i don't blame them because i enjoy bowls and cola everyday of my life, usually with a side of worms. i also can't imagine this issue is fixed on Monday. clearly this problem came from the patch.. the worst part is that the company made some great mods to the game. kinda fishy that we also had a delay on the medieval map pack just prior, though it seemed this was an issue with xbox, and the current problem seems like more of a Team 17 issue. i also find it weird that this new training mission has a 'medieval' theme to it. i guess i'll just have to make the move to steam if this issue isn't fixed soon. now i just need a coupon because i already spent 30 dollars on the xbox version :mad:

My save file is corrupt, game will only load 1st training mission then crashes if you complete the mission or try to quit out. This happens to everyone of my friends that also has this game. I have also tried to reinstall after deleting everything, nothing works. Reading this thread it seems like its affecting everyone.

to all those who don't have an option to choose 'storage device'. recently we found that by turning on your 'cloud storage' as the game loads you will be prompted to choose a storage device. at this point you hit either the guide button or the B/back button. right after that the training mission will start and you WILL BE ABLE TO EXIT. friends and i have been playing CLASSIC (because we only have soldiers and can't save) player matches. will have future update on ranked matches.

If you guys look in the other topic, or on gamefaqs. Someone has found the solution and why the game is locking up. It has nothing to do with the patch, but the clock on the 360. You must unhook your xbox from the internet and change to date to any date except for the month of december. For some reason that is causing the lock ups.

ranked is also good to go! sadly still no save data, so only soldier mode. let the domination continue!

I just got this game today and I can't even play it because it corrupts the save files? I am not impressed. Too bad purchases aren't refundable. This had better get fixed fast.

for all of those confused. the problem still exists. the problem with people falsely impersonating team17 however has been resolved. for some reason we have a corrupted saving problem. the only way to not have the issue is to NOT SAVE. as silly as this sounds you can still play ONLINE MATCHES. after you press start on the extremely bright title screen you should be prompted to choose a storage device to save onto.

if you don't have this option then you need to have a multiple options for saving. hence, my above post suggests that you go into your system settings and turn on your cloud so you have a multiple devices to choose from. once prompted to select a storage device hit B and continue with out saving. hop in the crappy new tutorial and pause the game to exit the tutorial.

then it has been suggested to do a couple puzzle missions to get some coins to buy a scientist or two. i am also having to rename my worms every time i load the game. a pain in the ass, yes, but a small price to pay to play such a great game.

It's a problem with the Date setting on the Xbox 360 triggering this glitch. If you change the date settings in the Xbox settings (I put mine back to February 2012), then the game loads & saves fine, as before. You CANNOT be on Xbox live for this though, as this automatically sets the time & date.

I'm doing this so I can play through the game & then when a fix patch comes out, hopefully I can then re-connect my Xbox Live, download the fix patch & carry on with my save files (campaign etc.), but now back on Xbox live & with the real date & time.

PLEASE Team 17, make it so that when the fix comes out, it will be possible to do this & we won't have to do all the levels again!

the campaign is one extremely long training mission to teach you how to use the weapons in certain situations. the thing you need to understand is that if you are doing the correct move against the computer it will automatically fire back instead of taking ages to think. if the computer has to think too too much it's because it couldn't recognize the move you did. the levels are plotted to be done in a correct number of moves and can thus be proven by how fast some of the the times are for single player mission.

online play however, is where you learn and trade the secrets/strategies that is worms.

Hi guys, thought i would share this, i've just found out after a couple of days without because i deleted my save files (as per above/another thread). All you have to do is:


click "B" when aked to use storage device and continue.
When in the introduction mission Just select bottom pause option to exit
Hey presto you can play ranked/multiplayer.


OK this starts you without your worms but you can gain coins quickly in multiplayer (rather than having to do the 1p missions). So you can get your (brainy) worms back quickly.

Then, just leave the game on, or earn your worms back each time. SOLVED until the update.

I hope that the patch fix also allows click throughs for all dialogues in the campaign (as much as I love Matt Berry, i'm in a hurry here people) and my one big wish....get rid of teh concrete donkey once and for all. a sledgehammer has no place on a chess board.

I met with 3 friends yesterday to play some Worms Revolution - as every two weeks...

Accepted the patch
Resulted in a crash after the first Round.
Restarted to read "corrupt save game".

I am not amused.

Team17 please fix it and rescue our corrupt save files when possible.

An while you´re at it, bring back Sentry Gun as "Environmental Hazards",
as seen in W:A.

One more thing to think about. I belong to the group of costumers that meet with real people on my real sofa to play the new Worms Revolution.

Customization is not an opton for my guests. They won´t happen to play with Scout or Scientist Worms, because in Local Multiplayer, they do not earn any coins to do so. As the have no XBOX at home, they cannot fix this "at home".

Looking at local multiplayer I see this as a Bug not as a Feature.

Idea: Let there be an option to customize local Teams with any Wormclass they want. Else we will keep missing out on one of the great new features.

It happened to my mate last night, 3 levels away from the last campaign mission. Not gonna start again as its a long old haul to get back to where we were. Its unacceptable, something needs to be done. He wants a refund and i dont blame him, it seems every game released on xbox these days is faulty

Getting achievements by modifying gamesaves is definitely against Microsoft TOS. It can take months or even years before Microsoft catch you, but when they do you'll lose everything...

I've purchased the game and two extensions, invited 2 friends to play yesterday night... What a disaster !! I lost all the profiles that I had created in the past weeks...

I've been playing offline all afternoon with my console date set to January 2013. Looks like the game only has a problem with December. So in the likely event that Team17 can't get a patch out there before the end of the year, it looks like we're all going to be able to play again in January, giving them 11 months to fix the issue. Time to play some Halo 4 until then.

As a programmer, I suspect some silly issue with month numbering with a bit of code expecting values between 0 and 11 but getting 1 to 12 instead. Someone at Team 17 must feel really bad right now.

It is still possible to play online matches as long as you don't save.

So, Team 17, what's the latest? I'd really like to be able to play my game. Failing that, I'd really appreciate an honest update on the situation. I'm sure you're aware of 343's little Halo boo boo. They're giving away the first dlc for free, as well as dropping the price to $39, and their mistake wasnt even in the same league as this mess. You all managed to get me to rush home from work to download the newset dlc for your game. I spent money on this game for the 4th time for a grand total of $30, and when I load it up, I'm rewarded with this. I've never even heard of anything this retarded. The best hackers in the world can't pull stuff like this off! Why isn't it fixed yet?!
