We have investigated a full chat box in the past. However, doing so comes with legal issues that could potentially be expensive. For the meantime we've stuck with the chat function that's in the game now. We have phrases that you can say to each other, as well as emoticons.

We are however looking into something we think you guys will like when it comes to finding new players! Stay tuned! ;)
