Hello there,

I decided to make a pack including the soundbanks that have been removed from the Steam version of W:A, in case you want them back; anyway, here it is: http://www.worms-univers.com/downloads/worms-armageddon/WA_Steam_Removed_speech_banks.zip (approx. 8.2 MB).

Installation instructions are in the Help.txt file, but basically, you just have to extract the archive to <WA Repository>\DATA\ (I created the sub-folders in the archive).

Edit: Muzer confirmed that the correct extraction path is rather <WA Repository>\DATA\, not <WA Repository>\. The latter path wasn't correct for me (soundbanks weren't loading in replays), but I was not sure whether it was the case only for me or for everyone.

You realize you're sharing copy righted material on the forum that is (Presumably) owned by the copyright holders, right?

There's no way this is illegal.

Anyway thanks a ton for these soundbanks, will add them back in as soon as possible.

Actually it sort-of is. It's no different from posting an MP3 of a song that wasn't included on a reissue of an album - just because it's not on the album anymore doesn't mean you can legally share the song without the author's/right-holder's permission.

When I started Dream17 (http://dream17.info/) back in 2003 I asked Team17 for permission to make their entire Amiga back-catalogue available to download, for free. They very kindly said Yes. If they'd said No, I probably would've just posted demos and left it at that. The games may not be in print anymore, but without Team17's permission I would have been breaking copyright law in distributing those games.

I'm actually seeking permission from Team17 to make the missing speechbanks available as downloads on Dream17. If I'm successful, they'll be going up some time this week.

Oh well, guess I'll have to wait a few days, or whenever it gets renewed.

November 1st. I'm not in charge of the site anymore and don't handle its hosting, but the bandwidth cap is usually reached by the middle of the month. Might want to talk to SupSuper or WorMatty (or bonz?) about that.

Of course this is illegal!
LTKiller is not the copyright/publishing right holder, so he has no license to distribute this material, which he has done by posting the link publicly on this forum.

And it's quite stupid too, because I'm quite sure that posting links to copyrighted material is in breach of the forum rules you agreed to and can get you banned.

Dream17.info is generously hosted on WorMatty's server for free.

Silly, isn't it? Technically, sharing soundfiles for Worms from any other media (including other Worms games) anywhere is illegal, period. Yet there are a lot of speechbanks containing said materials scattered about the web. I don't think anyone really cares.

Well for those other places Team17 probably has to send a Cease and Desist letter to the host of such places and take legal action if nothing happens, a costly practice. Here they can handle it without such costly methods buuut I think the wise members of this community would like to help T17 and take the initiative.
