Hi,

TLDR: Offline a-sync multiplayer could rock.

Long time fan of the Worms games since the Amiga days here. Great to see you guys venturing onto fb.

Now, I'm enjoying what I've played so far, but it seems to me that with a turn based game, you've missed an opportunity to give people the option to play asynchronously.

For some, playing with their friends is gonna be the preferred option (certainly mine!), but that relies on both parties being online, on facebook and playing Worms at the same time to begin with.

It would be great to provide an a-sync offline mode; When a player loads up their turn, they see an optional replay of the previous opponent(s) moves, then take their worm's turn.

Interface wise, it could work the same way as a lot of mobile games where you have a list of all the matches you've got on the go and the player can just dip in take their turn on a few games and then pop out again without having to arrange a time to be online or waiting around for friends.

Some pros:
Able to play games with friends who aren't online at the same time as the player
Easier promotion of Worms, players can invite friends directly to play their first turn of a new a-sync game
Turns are short, no big time commitment
Less time commitment means you could have longer games:

Easier to support having more worms per team
Games can be played through till all worms are eliminated

Easier to start and manage games that have more than 2 players
Gives the player an option to "prod" friends to take their turns! ;)

Some cons:
Replays can be a pain in the ass to code...IIRC, the replays in Armageddon could be quite hit or miss :o

Cool idea and one we have discussed. You might be interested to know that Worms 2 Armageddon on iOS has this feature.
