View Full Version : Loose Cannon puzzle (3/5 of Farm theme) impossible to beat without luck?

First of all I must say the Puzzles have been probably my favourite part of this game so far, many of them are damn clever.

But there's one that I cannot seem to beat, the third Farm puzzle called Loose Cannon. In my best try I killed all the enemies, except the lowest worm that had 3 hp left.
I've tried several times the same strategy, it seems the only one that could work, but looks like you just have to be very lucky for it to work perfectly...
The mine doesn't most of the time fly to the right position from the repelling Magnet you place in the lower left corner.

Or maybe I'm missing something?

EDIT: Finally beat it. But it took like 15 identical tries to do it. In every try I did everything the same way, but only one attempt gave me victory. The mine doesn't usually hit the target.

Glad to hear you beat it.

If anyone is getting stuck there is a guide up over at IGN (http://uk.ign.com/wikis/worms-revolution/Walkthroughs). They don't seem to have added the Farmyard puzzle walkthrough at the moment.

I'm just going to PM you the solution to this puzzle Hoppi, I know you've done it now but I'd like to know why it took a few attempts.

Thanks!

Thanks Beth. Oh, I wasn't aware of the guide.

Looks like I did it in a "wrong" way, my mistake :)

The guide you PM'd me probably works just right.

This one took me the longest so far, and yeah...I just repeated what I felt was the right way and finally got it. Just requires everything to go right. Not sure how the guides are though, don't like looking at those until i've beaten it myself.

Oh good, at least it wasn't an issue in the end :) I'm glad it worked for you!

Have you completed the full puzzle campaign now then? What did you think?

This last one is a giant pain in the ass.

I've completed all but the last puzzle: I don't understand the meaning of Bunker Buster in that one... because it doesn't reach the canister... If it did, I would've beaten it. But don't tell me, I want to crack it myself :p

I love the puzzles! Very good job, whoever designed those. I didn't have patience to listen to the Don Keystone clips though, it was funner to solve them without his help anyway :)

EDIT: Finished the last one too finally. It was quite easy after all, but I think I did it wrong way too. There's actually a few ways you can do it, but none of them seem like the way it was supposed to be done :D

Could someone help me out a bit? I have tried a few different things but this one is really stumping me. I drill, place the repel magnet in bottom left corner, and then it seems like dragon balling the can is the logical thing but i cant figure out what to do with the mine that stays up and i am also clueless about how to use the mine/cans combo other than killing my bottom worm and causing a little more damage to the lone enemy. Been stuck for a while.

Hey Bobo,
Here's the solution:
Farm Puzzle 3
How does that song go about a chain reaction? Well, this map shows just how worms do science, explosion style!

Start off by using the Pneumatic Drill to go through the dirt below you and collect the crate below. The turn should then swap to another worm, who after collecting the Electromagnet crate to his left, should return to the enemy worm on the right, whip out the Dragon Ball and use it to hit him rightwards.
Back with your first worm, equip the Blowtorch and use it to reach the crate on the right.

Your second worm takes command, and will need to be taken to the left-hand side of the map by the small hole in the wall. Place an Electromagnet here because it’ll come in handy later.

Worm numero uno needs to go left to his own hole in the floor, and whilst stood over it, place an Attract variety of Electromagnet in there and drop in himself – again, all will become clear, oh puzzled worms!

Back to your other worm, who has a strange feeling of impending doom lurking about him again. Equip the Teleport and place it above the hole containing three enemy worms, in the small dip next to the right-hand mine. After he falls, the fun begins.

The first mine explosion will send the second mine down to the left, only to be flung to the right again by the Electromagnet placed earlier; in turn this will explode on the enemy worm down there, causing the barrels to explode, the mines ontop of said barrels to head upwards, become attracted by the magnet, set off in proximity of your worm and then the final set of barrels should explode (take a deep breath!) before finally, the water is released and the enemies expire in a good old fashioned water accident. Well done!
