When I press up+left, I cannot release the rope by pressing space. Can this be fixed with the right keyboard or am I forever to be unable to rope?

In that forum thread that CyberShadow directed you to, this is the important post, containing a list of keyboards that do and do not work, as experienced by users:

I'd like to say that keylock doesn't cause an inability to rope. All my systems have had this issue since learning to rope, and I consider myself a pretty competent roper.
Just requires a little space/arrowpad rhythm.
That said, it would probably be a problem for someone who has roped for a while without keylock and is switching to a system with keylock.

I have never had any problems about keylock because I'm roping simply as it's good to.
the only keylocks I have about arrows are: Up+Left+Space and Down+Right+Space.
but rope doesn't need holding all keys at once.
if you learn to rope well enough, you will be pressing them separately, in a rhytm as said above.
also, pressing all of these keys at once would make you lose control by touching roof. keylock is saving your ***, so be happy about it :)

Whilst zookman is right that if you can learn to rope with a keylock keyboard and that's there been many great ropers with keylock what you're saying here Steps is not 100% true.

I'd like to see you power spike into a power outlaw then going back to the roof, spike and scroll all the time at the maximun speed WA allows you without having to press up+right/left+space at the same time

i can do that easily, but i usually don't need these tricks ;)

Sure you can.

Doesn't take away the fact you're pretty clueless on the topic, specifically in this part:

What is "well enough"? You could make a top10 ropers of all time list and one of them has a keylock keyboard.

And no, it doesn't make you lose control. Full speed kicks are done pressing up and right and then space. If you choose to release up and right before pressing space because you have keylock you will be slower, maybe not noticeably slower, but in the long run, you're slower.

Keylock doesn't save anyone's life. It makes you do extra finger movements for ultimately going slower. I'm not arguing one can get good enough with a keylock keyboard and rope it up, all I'm saying is that you should stop trying to convince people that having a keyboard with keylock is better because you're full of it and someone might buy into it, and we have enough with Thurbo spreading misinformation about WA to now have you on board too.

Can one learn how to rope greatly using a keylock keyboard? Definitely

Is having keylock in your keyboard better when roping No, no, no and no.

i'm not convincing anyone, I made a single post, purely expressing my own opinion and my own roping style. No one has to follow it ;)
nor did I say that "keyboard with keylock is better". how can it be better lol? :D

but since you're upset on it, i removed the post

Justice is served.

Seriously, as someone who has gotten way more comfortable with keylock roping than I ever intended, I can't but agree with everything yakuza has posted. Yes you can learn to rope reasonably well with it but you're never going to be as fast as you could have been without it, regardless of roping style, regardless of scheme. All it does is it makes doing simple things a little more difficult and some of the difficult things impossible (or nearly so).

And compensating for key lock no doubt increases chance of RSI.
