I have steam and regular 3.6.31.0 WA and latest AMD Catalyst drivers 12.8 (Windows 8 is supported) on my Windows 7 x64 and Windows 8 x64. In Windows 7 everything works fine, but in Windows 8 I have graphical bugs.

Mouse arrow goes beneath those white squares, not over it and like you see, drop down menus are nowhere to be found, just white squares everywhere in menus.

Also, some sides of this have been fixed for the next W:A update (notably the white fields). The work on the in-game and frontend FPS (frames-per-second) performance is still ongoing.

I don't have any performance issues and I`m glad to hear that white squares will be fixed in the next update (hopefully that would happen by the end of next month).

I had the same problems like described by "thetrouble". I changed something in WA option screen (I checked the option "window mode" for exemple) and now I get a black screen. I dont see anything of WA Interface, from the start.

You can effectively reset the game's settings using the following method:

* Open regedit
* Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Team17SoftwareLTD\Worms Armageddon\Options on the left
* Right click the Options key (folder), and click delete. Accept any prompts.


If it still has a black screen after this, it is likely you have a WormKit module installed - if you delete everything in your Worms Armageddon folder starting with "wk" and ending in "dll", as well as the dsound.dll file if it exists, you should be near enough up to a default setup. Your teams/progress and other custom user files will not be affected. You can then start the steps from the beginning.

In the Tweaks directory, you can find the file "ResetRegistryOptions.reg". Double-click it, and it should reset the graphics/etc. settings back.

I'd be interested to know which setting you've changed that caused the problem you described.

Did you enable "SlowFrontendWorkaround"? under certain configurations, it can cause a black screen
try resetting the settings (and then disabling the SlowFrontendWorkaround if it doesn't help), but if you want us to find the possible reason of the issue, then before doing this please extract a registry branch of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Team17SoftwareLTD\Worms Armageddon\Options

I am sorry StepS, I can't deliver you the bug report. I just forgot to make it. And now the problem is solved, it works smoothly. I made a reset like CyberShadow proposed and then I applicated method 1 (http://worms2d.info/Getting_W:A_to_work_on_Windows_8).
