Pre-purchase now and receive a copy of fan-favorite, Worms™ Armageddon (previously unavailable on Steam) to play right now.

WHAT?

Okay, I need answers. Latest beta patch? Working online multiplayer? Any changes to the game? Will it be available standalone in the future? WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?:eek::eek:

WHAT?

Okay, I need answers. Latest beta patch?
Yes. Actually, it's a slightly newer version than the patch for the CD version but they'll both be brought into line soon.

Working online multiplayer?
Yes. Identical to the CD version.

Any changes to the game?
The only change is the removal of 5 soundbanks for some reason, these are Angry Scots, Jocks, The Raj, Rastafarian and Team17 Test. Not sure why they've been removed but they've been intentionally removed for some reason.

Will it be available standalone in the future?
Nobody knows.

WHAT SORCERY IS THIS? :eek::eek::eek:
Worm wizardry.

Team17 are currently getting a lot of money from people that

-already own W:A
-are not interested in Worms Revolution

You show them boys!

Limited time offer

So what? It will be then available as a separate purchase which i'm pretty sure.

No

I know it says it's a limited time offer, but that doesn't mean the game won't be available standalone at some point in the future. It doesn't make much sense to go trough the trouble to get the game there only to make it a timed pre-order bonus. My expectation is the offer is to drum up interest in Revolution, and then a few weeks after it's released W:A will be offered standalone. I was just wondering if anyone knew for sure.

I have several limited time offer games in my library, Rayman 2 for instance, and they never became available (yet). I'm kinda sure limited time actually means limited, not once limited then forever purchasable to everyone (hey we just ripped you off your pre-order bonus, everyone can get the game now). That's not too likely.

Blizzard did that with World Of Warcraft games. Basically everyone who got "The Burning Crusade" back then was ripped off, because you get it for free now. And "Wrath Of The Lich King" costs 6 euros now, and it was 25 euros several months ago. So there is a possibility of W:A being released later.

Blizzard is Blizzard and Valve is Valve. It's never happened to a Steam game, at least not to the ones I got as a "limited time bonus offer".

It wouldn't really be a ripoff considering the game is currently included in the cost of Revolution, and later on would cost extra to get.

If this does stay as a limited offer it'll be a huge crime against humanity.

That's just the way you see it though. Look at the ludicrous amount of W:A players not caring about W:Rev buying Armageddon on Steam alongside Worms Revolution for no apparent reason (except for reasons I don't want to type in here :p)

Pretty sure they do so because "time limited offer". The only chance to get W:A on Steam seems to be to pre-order Worms Revolution.

The W:A community is full of awesome people who won't care if the game shows up stand-alone for a cheaper price than we paid. All we want is the game to be easily available for everyone, at any time. Because we're awesome.

It's just as well full of the opposite character people. People always complain about anything, rule of thumb.

Things that are righteous in your own opinion. That's how complaining works; you only do it if you think it's righteous even when it actually is not. I've read through so many pages of absolutely unrighteous complaints I'm tired as heck and your argument is invalid

And who is "you" anyway?

No dude, I'm talking about undeniable, objectively recognized righteousness.:cool::cool:

And I am me. What a silly question.

It happened to the Worms Reloaded preorder bonuses. Oh.

Over 30 custom and comedy sound banks (including stiff upper lip, Cyberworms and Angry Scots).

It must've been by accident, because the Steam description advertises that soundbank, even though it isn't in there. Or maybe it was removed for space conservation... who knows?

Sorry, I wasn't aware the Worms Reloaded pre-order bonuses were a stand-alone Steam game.

Thank you for clearing that up.

I'll probably pick this up just to play Worms Armageddon again. I'll be pretty ****ed if Worms Armageddon ends up being sold separately after Worms Revolution is released, though, so this had damn well better be an exclusive for people who pre-order Worms Revolution and nothing more. I have no interest in playing new Worms games until you guys get the rope physics right again.

That kinda sucks, I used all five of those at some point. I'm not surprised that Team 17 Test didn't make it through, kind of a given. The others I'm guessing must have some clip that someone deemed too offensive for an E rating. Or someone thought they offensive. Whatever, I'm sure they can be loaded just like other custom speech banks, and your opponent will simply hear the default.

At this point, Worms Armageddon is currently only available when you pre-purchase Worms Revolution (it's just one part of the many pre-purchase exclusives and you'll get to play it straight away for anyone wondering). We've no plans to release it seperately this year.

It doesn't matter whether he's a fan or not. The complaints matter, and obviously they would be massive.

Why not? By keeping the game exclusive you are limiting my multiplayer options.
I can understand if you want the focus to be on Worms Revolution though.

Also, I like the water physics update, been dreaming of that mechanic for years!

Hey guys! Guess what! if you buy Worms Armageddon on Steam for $15, you get the new Worms game, Worms Revolution, absolutely free!

(Look, maybe if we talk about it like this idiots will stop saying stupid things.)

It still uses WormNet so multiplayer works with those who are still using the disc-based version.

I'm strongly considering creating a new sound bank in honor of this re-release of glorious W:A, since I don't really want to listen to my 16-year-old voice anymore, or in fact remember at all that my 16-year-old self ever existed. And hey, now I could even retrofit said sound bank to work in Worms Reloaded! So that might happen except I don't have any good recording software on this rig at present, aaaaand apparently neither of the headset jacks on the front of my tower work either, so... Maybe hopefully soon.

But anyway yeah having W:A back is wonderful, even if the huge resolution we use today has totally destroyed my perception of how big all the explosions were.
