View Full Version : Says I need Flash Player but I already have it

I'm pretty sure this isn't really the place to ask about this, as I doubt it's a problem with the game itself but I figured someone might be able to help me. I couldn't see this issue already posted, so forgive me if this is a dupe.

When I go to play the game, all the tabs work as expected with the exception of the "Play" tab, which just shows a "Get Adobe Flash Player" button to the right of the screen. I'm running Chrome and definitely have the Flash Player installed. I've tried disabling AdBlock and clearing my cache and all the general first steps one tries in these situations.

Any idea how I might be able to get around this issue?

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch the title
2. Click the Play tab
3. Observe the issue

Hey Vader,

Thanks for reporting this, can you let me know if you're experiencing this again? We've made some updates since you reported this so it might work now.

Also, cool lego website! I'll read that later ;) There's a couple of AFOL's here at T17, including me!! :)

Cheers,

El Bobbo

Hey, only just seen your reply; sorry I didn't get back sooner.

I still get this on both my work machine and my home machine. I've tried leaving it for ages to see if eventually loads but it remains as described above.

The LEGO website is really out of date. I've got some other stuff on my tumblr: http://legosforkids.tumblr.com/

I'm not a big fan of tumblr, though, so I rarely update it. Although I should stick my (relatively) recent MOC of a dragon on there, I suppose.

Anyway, yeah, issue remains as described. Except the button is actually (and always was) to the far left of the screen, not the right :P

I now get a Worms logo and the following message, displayed indefinitely:

If your game fails to load please upgrade your Flash player or enable Javascript in your browser.

My Flash player is up to date and Javascript is enabled.

Also, today I got an email saying "You signed up, we let you in, but we’ve not seen you on the battlefield yet! Come and see what you’re missing!", heh. :)

I still get the message saying "If your game fails to load please upgrade your Flash player and enable Javascript in your browser".

I am a sad Vader :(

Hey Vader, sorry for the late reply. Please try now, we've updated the game a fair bit and you might have success now!

Hello,

sorry to barge in, but I have a similar problem and to avoid cluttering the forum with additional thread, thought it would be better to post here.

I've been approved as a test user today and my first try sadly ended in a failure.

The game stops at Worms logo with the message: "If your game fails to load please upgrade your Flash player and enable Javascript in your browser".

None of the tabs work - that's why I registered here to ask for help.

I've checked all the steps mentioned above (some several...hundred... times  ) and the result is:
- JavaScript is enabled
- latest Flash version is installed: flashplugin-installer 11.2.202.251ubuntu0.12.10.1

I'm on Firefox 17.0.1, Worms ver 1.66.02 Live 04/12/2012 15:17 BL

sorry, this is not the latest version! Latest is 11.5, required is 11.3.
you're on Linux so Adobe will not make updates for you, however you can cry and beg them to do so
but you can use Chrome with integrated pepper-based Flash player.

oh true true, you are quite right! my appologies, I forgot about that.

well after several adjustments, we have:
- Chrome: 23.0.1271.95 installed
- Flash: 11,5,31,2 installed
- JavaScript enabled
... little globe starts to spin, vanishes and a white screen appears... and Houston we have a problem: that's it, nothing happens. only tab that is responding is "invite friends" =/

p.s. sorry for double posting. I was not sure if the first post got through because I recieved this message after posting it:

You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.

Date the ban will be lifted: Never

Whoa, where did you get banned from Ereshkigal?! These forums? Please let me know you should absolutely not have been banned for making a double post! Easy mistake!

As for the computer problems, regrettably we don't fully support Linux, so I'm afraid I can't help you any more there. However, if you can, please try it on a PC or a Mac. If you can't get on there it might be a deeper lying problem.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help! Bob

Sorry for belated response: it was just a message, not an actual ban :) The ban message popped up after sending the first message. I did also try to change my profile as StepS mentioned and it popped up again. I figured it was just not my day, as everything else went wrong (and the end of the world wastn't even close! ) so I came back tomorrow and posted the message again - this time both appeared. I figured it was a glitch or something similar and the worst-case scenario would be repremending without spanking, not banning :D

Regarding the "we don't fully support Linux" part, thank you Bob, then I'll just have to boot Windows more often :) ... and in case you were wondering, now it does not load at all on Linux. I'll give it a try this afternoon in Win.

Thank you :)

Unfortunately my result has not changed :(

I even tried removing the app and, not sure what you call it other than adding it again... yeah, I add-it-agained it.

When you log on first time right after creating an account, you can't post anything, that's how it goes for some reason. The solution is simple - to log off and log on again ;) hope this helps for future members :D
