Hey all, I'm just curious as to what was the first worms game that you guys got and how you found out about worms.

I'll start first:

Worms has been a big part of my childhood, specifically one worms game, Worms Armageddon, my dad bought it once a while ago and me and my siblings enjoyed playing with it, doing all sorts of crazy things (like the worm cannon), and we had tons of fun with it.

Actually, it wasn't until a few years ago that I found out there were other worms games, and that's when I started getting more into worms more and how I became a big fan of the series.

Worms 2, back in '99, but started Armageddon a couple of months later or something... Used to play it with a friend, we played it a lot...

The first of course! Worms 1 on Mac was the first worms game I owned. Think I might have played Worms 2 before that at a friend's house

I first played the original Worms 96-99 as a little kid. Then just a bit Armageddon at my friend 1999-2001. Then WA online from autumn 2010, been hooked ever since.

The original Worms, on the Amiga. My Dad got a copy for his birthday not long after it came out, so I can pinpoint my very first game to January 11th, 1996.

Yeah.

I first played the original Worms at a friends house on PlayStation, but the first Worms game I owned was Worms 2.

My brother got the original Worms for the Amiga, either for Christmas or his birthday. I think it was Christmas and the game had only just come out which probably makes it Christmas 1995 (if the internet is right in saying it came out in 95).

Anyway, I always enjoyed the original but really fell in love with Worms 2 for the PC. A giant leap forward for the franchise.

I'd played it before, a couple of times, but the first copy I actually got was the playable PC Demo, which I downloaded from T17's amazing demo section and managed to get to work... eventually... with a lot of help.

I am aware there were only two landscapes available on said demo, but I played it over and over and over again, until I eventually managed to get Worms United...

...but I still think I loved the demo more than anything else.

The first one I remember playing ever, was Worms 2, still remember those tombstones. But that was on my brothers fancy PC, I got to use the old one we had, but I was able to run the original worms on it, which I played quite a bit.

My journey started with Worms 2 in 2001 (Was my brother's worms CD, but he played a lot with me)
After that Worms 3D and then the one I am still playing: Worms:Armageddon
My first online adventure was with Worms Armageddon in 2006

For those of you who got your start with the PSone version of the original Worms, you might be interested to know that it's more or less identical to the PC version that's up on Steam and GOG.com right now for less than $10.

Mine was the first one that ever came out on PS1 sometime in the early 90's. Me and my brother would always play that haha, even though I was about 3 at the time.

It was the 31st December 1999. I was at a Millennium party and people were playing Worms: Armageddon on the Dreamcast. I hated it at first, but soon fell in love with the game. So I bought a copy of the original game (on the Playstation) and was hooked ever since.

Soon after, I played Worms United and a few years later, Worms: Armageddon for the PC. I have played the original Amiga versions (including Worms: DC) - brilliant versions. Twelve - thirteen years later, Worms is still amazing. :)

Worms Reinforcements, apparently. :p I was 4 at the time and until recently, I was convinced the game was called Worms +. I remember spending ages trying to get that damn mole bomb, with no luck.

Having the Reinforcements expansion installed changed the Worms HUD to read "Worms +", so you weren't wrong.

There was a coding error that basically broke the Mole Bomb, but it was easily fixed with a bit of hex editing. I wonder if Team17 fixed the glitch when they released Worms on Steam and GoG.

They edited Superfrog to make it winnable, so I don't see any reason why they shouldn't have fixed a minor glitch to make one of these weapons actually work.

Worms 2 here, and it is still in many ways vastly more customizable then W:A while retaining full network compatibility with other players (No need for all players participating in a game to share hacks/Wormkit Modules).

The first worms on Amiga... It made a fun change blowing up little critters instead of saving them haha (lemmings) Been hooked ever since then. I played a lot of WWP on ps1 and DC over the years. However due to not really using those consoles too much these days the amount of time gone into W2:A on xbla is quickly catching up.

My first Worms game was called Worms. I first got the demo version which had only 2 landscapes. It came with a magazine with a diskette with all kinds of shareware games and demos included.
Well, I just had to get the full version ;)

I first played the Worms Pc demo too.

Very soon I ordered the full game through my Primary School's book club. It came in a bundle with Catz and Dogz :p
