i joined a game but my name didn't show up in the list. i was still able to add teams and light up and the host wasn't able to kick me from the lobby. my team name was black. i dropped as soon as the game started. weird.

probably, there was a full room, and you joined exactly at the same time as 7th player? Or something dropped during transaction. That happened once or twice in a life for me, that is very rare.

Yeah, I've never seen that and I've played thousands upon thousands of games. It sounds like a very rare race condition.
