Hey there all W:A players, Im Louie that plays and focus on "Intermediate 1v1" from Sweden, I thought it would be nice to create the channel #Worms on mIRC QuakeNet there players can idle and schedule to play matches vs. eachother directly.

It would be nice if we get some idlers and get to know eachother abit cause I like a good challenge and its not always you can get that in WormNet when you just sign in and play random players, some can also act abit like douches aswell hehe so, I think its great if you can just throw a random msg in #Worms and ask anyone to play, also nice if a bunch of us got to know eachother since you can chat there aswell :)

Were hoping most for Intermediate 1v1 players but everyone is welcome! So join up and lets form a little community up there! 8) Peace all!

May I suggest that you create a channel on GameSurge (http://www.gamesurge.net/) instead? We already have a well established communal channel there (#worms), mainly used for general worms support and off-topic discussion. You (and anyone else) are welcome to join!

You will also find other worms-related channels on gamesurge, made by various clans/groups in the community. Obviously I can't speak personally for these other channels, but GameSurge is definitely where all the current worms-IRC-users are.

It doesn't change much for me since I'm on a bunch of IRC networks already, but yeah, GameSurge is just historically where WA-related channels have been located. If you really feel you need a separate channel to organise games in, it should prove somewhat easier to populate if it was made there as opposed to on QuakeNet.

But personally, although I admit we'll occasionally fill #worms with conversation completely unrelated to the games and that many of the channel's patrons aren't nearly as active actually playing the game as they used to be, I'd say you'd probably be fine just inviting people interested in playing Intermediate with you there. Especially recently, it has actually been by far the most discussed scheme in the channel, thanks to the commentated live streams of Crespo's Worms Tournament that we've been following.

yes, it offers live streams of matches (by request), which hundreds of people will see online
