I have quite a couple of older Team 17 titles Worms 4 Mayhem, Worms Forts under Siege, Worms 3D and some older 2D games. This problem is driving me crazy as I am not able to play the games properly. I have spend a lot of time in it and tried different things but still no go. I have Core 2 Duo E8500 CPU and a NVIDIA 460 graphics card. My drivers are all up to date I have NVIDIA driver version 280.26 and my input devices also have the latest updates. I am running Windows 7 now, and the problem is that almost all of the time the cutscenes will not play. I can play the files in the FMV directories of every game without any problems, but they do not play in game somehow. I also tried to set and change the options of the executables for every game even for the Windows Media player in the NVIDIA settings but this still gives me the same result. Then I tried to remove and reinstall windows media player but this still doesn ot work. I have tried to look on google but the solutions - if given - do not apply to me. I only have the video playback/ cutscene problems with Team 17 games... :(

Btw. it looks to me it is a media player issue. WHich media player(s) are you using for the game or is this hard coded in the program? Can I reset media player settings or will this also do not do anything?

Okay let me put it this way...
Will I have the same issues with the newer Team 17 titles like Worms reloaded etc?

Only the new Worms Ultimate Mayhem has WMV cutscenes, so it shouldn't be an issue for the other recent games.

As for your cutscene problem, is Windows Media Player the default player and do the WMVs work in it? Have you tried installing the Windows Media Codecs (http://www.codecguide.com/windows_media_codecs.htm)?

Yes the wmvs play flawless if I am not in game. Windows media player is now my default player. I tried to install media codecs but Windows media player does not allow me to install these codecs in Windows 7 somehow. It is like the codecs are already there. In most games there is sound but there is no video/ picture, the screen is just fully black during play of the cutscene or the frames do not get updated.
