Dear Team 17, I love you guys. You gave me my childhood as a gamer. When I first got my beloved PSX I got your game simply titled Worms. It was in 1994 and as far as I remember it's the same year when you have released it. During the next years of my gaming I was delighted when a friend of mine got worms 2 on a PC. The endless possibilities to customize weapons with simple slides and numbers. A handgun that could shot 50 times per round etc. Then I got Worms: Armaggeddon for PSX. It was glorious! I know that it was much better as a PC version but non the less perfect. Then when i was 14 or 15 I bought Worms World Party and it shined as never before! The WormNet was top notch, customization was perfect, as far as I remember we could have 6 or 8 teams per game. No lags on 56k modem! Roping as fast as you could. I rose still as a gamer because of you Team 17. I got into my first clan ever Gravediggers from Poland. I played everyday Rope race, Warmer, Battlerun, Shopper, W2W. YOU GUYS MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR GAMERS LIKE ME TO ADORE YOU. Because of you as a British developers I also wanted to learn English to be as proficient as a real British person is. I thank you for all your hard work. More over I loved Worms 3D and I supported you over the years as many other gamers.

However, could you tell me what has happened to wormnet? The glorious days of a simple lobby with a chatroom. What has happened to customization? No more really masterfully pieced together masterpieces of maps for Shopper etc. How on earth people have lags on 1 or 2 or 4 mb's internet connection? I want to know! If it was because of ****ty contracts? The watered down versions for consoles? Reloaded was trully a flop. I got it and there is no charm to it. I can't see worms in that game as I have seen many times from the past.

Worms 4 Ultimate Mayhem on the other hand is just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo close to be a masterpiece.

Tweaks to the lobby to make it be like wormnet has been before. Wormpot. More teams per game. Customization of maps a map editor or rather terrain editor the one you use to make those yours wonderful 3d maps.

If you are on a roll of giving gamers their portion of worms. Please T17 re-release original worms with the compatibility to the new systems as they have been before. Once again I would like to buy Worms World Party and be happy to recall fond memories of when I was a young boy. Keep the good work and please LONG LIVE WORMS!

tl;dr:
Not a rant. Pure feeling put on the monitor screen for T17 to see and for other gamers who have felt like this before.

Team17 staff don't work weekends, and you posted your thread pretty much at the end of the working week.

Buy Worms Armageddon :D it is still being updated, and is currently compatible with any system. Right now it has a lot of new features, great customizability and more. There are really a lot of people. Worms World Party has been adandoned, there's almost nobody at wormnet :( and it has less features

The problem is that W:A and WWP are unavailable to buy in shops. That's why i would like T17 to re-release the original Worms for us on Steam platform. Old gamers know what kind of games they really are but new generation of gamers have no clue about them... and they were perfect.

Re Wormnet. The fact is that these days our titles have to share development, so the PC and Console versions to a large extent share the same code which means the online code needs to be the same. Matchmaking is the way that our recent console games have been designed which means that when the PC games come out they are based on this matchmaking code. Adding a proper lobby system for the PC would make the games more accesible but it's a lot of work, but I can tell you that it's something we are discussing in great depth about our PC titles.

Bill thank you! I was reading all your posts on Steam forum where players were very rude towards you and this isn't the way it should be. We co-exist gamers cannot be gamers without games which you as developers provide them for us. It is great that you are taking into consideration this topic :) I am sure if you would add a proper lobby system to Reloaded the majority of gamers would stop complaining and you would get more customers. Consoles are consoles and PC are what they are. You aren't restricted by the PCs as you are by PS3, Xbox, PSP or DS. Cheers!

BillT17 and Team17 don't think more about a proper lobby, just do it, it is something really important to keep alive a game
