I launch the game, the gfx options come up, then when I continue the screen goes black then crashes back to the desktop.

I have tried running as admin, using compatibility mode, and fiddling with different gfx options.

My system is a gaming laptop and runs games like Crysis 2 on high settings so I know it's not a problem with being able to run it.

Have you tried verifying the game cache?

1. Load Steam
2. From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
4. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
5. Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.

I did that and it fixed the problem and was able to play a little while. Then I went to play later and now it's happening again. I also ran the RegVideoDLL.exe file. I have all my drivers updated.

Could this be part of the problem? This was in my log:

GL_GREMEDY_string_marker not found.
GL_GREMEDY_frame_terminator not found.

I am using Nvida Geforce GTX 560M.
