View Full Version : Mac multiplayer lobby: Can't start matches

Hello! I have Worms:Reloaded for Mac and a couple of Mac friends to (theoretically) play with.

I can get into a game lobby with other Mac players, but when I turn on my light bulb, it does not appear to be on to the other users. When other players turn on their light bulbs, they still appear off to me.

Therefore, the match can never be started.

I did a bit of research and eventually added /ALWAYSREADY to my local.cfg file and even got my friend to add it to his. This didn't help.

As for background, I'm on an Intel iMac running OSX 10.6.7.

Any assistance would be appreciated. This is proving to be a major buzzkill for a game that I had eagerly anticipated for a long time.

Have you tried starting a game without any of you using a router? Connecting through your modems directly, I mean.

That's what I would try because from my experience, routers are worthless garbage. But that's just me.

It greatly helps if you know how to properly set up port-forwarding and... route the incoming traffic through to your machine (the latter needing a static internal IP address, either forced by the router via a MAC filter, or set on the machine itself).
If your router can't do those basic things, then it is indeed worthless garbage.

Edit:
Since Worms Reloaded is a Steamworks-enabled game, I suppose it'll need these ports:

Okay, I set up port-forwarding as per Steam's instructions and... nothing.

Still doesn't work. Same problem.

Any other suggestions?

UPnP (Universal Plug n Play) should do the trick, if enabled/supported by your router

Okay, I guess I can try UPnP.

Can anyone point me to a tutorial for setting it up on Mac?
