Available April 15th. Excited? I sure am, as I got a handful of friends who didn't want to buy it yet since they didn't want to create a Steam account first.

*EDIT*
Not to have to create a new thread for this, I've got a question:
The iPad version of Worms 2: Armageddon offers the voices "Darksider" and "Lightsider" which are not in Reloaded yet. As they are a nice homage to the old conflict between the Worms players and their way of playing, I've been wondering wether you're going to include them to Reloaded?

Bet you you'll still need a steam account to install it.

That would suck and make the release of a retail version pointless.

That's happening more often.

I'm sure you will need a Steam account. The game relies on Steam for updates, multiplayer, save game backups and achievements.

To confirm, you still need a Steam account to play reloaded.

I don't actually want to query things here, but what's the point of a retail version then? Why would people, who didn't buy the game yet, do it now?

You don't need a credit card to buy retail games, some people still want a physical product and don't buy digital only games, some people would only notice the game in store and then there are fans that just want something tangible to add to their collection.

Would that make enough to balance the (presumably rather expensive) costs incurred?

some people would only notice the game in store

That's the only reason I could think of :p

Uhm, what?
Not needing a credit card (=kids) is definitely the most important reason for a retail release, even if the game fully utilizes and requires Steamworks/Steam.
Guess why there's such a big business with pre-paid cards for the consoles or games like World Of Warcraft: Kids without a credit card!

I can only reiterate for the umpteenth time:
There is no difference whatsoever between the license agreements of a retail release and a digital download.

Also, you can run Steam in offline mode, so you can play the single player portion fine. You only need to connect once for the DRM to register your license key.
Be thankful that it isn't like Ubisoft or EA Games with their crazy permanent connection requirement.

They got rid if that, actually. Ubisoft did, I mean. I don't know what EA Games games have it.

Darkspore, AFAIK.
