In game there are 15 languages (Rus, Fin, Pol, Jap etc.), but is accessible only 5, remaining 10 are blocked, WHY?


I very much was is surprised when have learned a vow.
And already very much for a long time in game there are 15 languages.
Well for a choice only 5: Eng, Fra, Ger, Ita, Spa
But such in game is 10 more: Cze, Dan, Fin, Jap, Ned, Nor, Pol, Rus, Swe, Usa

.\Steam\steamapps\common\worms reloaded\DataPC\Language

It is necessary to activate:
To select for example AllTextRus.bin and to rename it in AllTextEng.bin.
Then game becomes in Russian, BUT will be blocked multiplayer as to turn on protection from cheat as the file has been changed.


It is very interesting to me why in game there are 15 languages, and is accessible only 5 why remaining 10 are blocked???

И уже очень давно в игре есть 15 языков.

Но такое в игре есть еще 10: Cze, Dan, Fin, Jap, Ned, Nor, Pol, Rus, Swe, Usa

Чтобы в этом убедиться нужно зайти в:
..\Steam\steamapps\common\worms reloaded\DataPC\Language

Чтобы активизировать нужно:
Выбрать к примеру AllTextRus.bin и переименовать его в AllTextEng.bin.
Тогда игра станет на русском, НО будет заблокирован мултиплеер, так как включиться защита от читов, так как был изменен файл.


Мне очень интересно почему в игре есть 15 языков, а доступно всего лишь 5, почему остальные 10 заблокированы ???

Anyway the piracy dont sleep and sale Russian version of the game. Does Team 17 don't know what commercy is? Can somebody tell me a reason why they hide some languages?

If you try it with every file, you'll find out most of the extra language files don't work at all, only showing missing or blank files. There are a few exceptions like Russian and Polish, but they might've just decided to not support those in the long-run (it's not as simple as just translating, they also need to keep updating the languages with every patch and supporting those markets).

So, i found solution how to turn on the missing languages without any in-game errors, but posting it will probably bring a ban hammer on me...

Anyway, lets begin :
1. Open WormsReloaded.exe in some hex editor
2. Search for "AllText%s.bin"
3. Replace with "AllTextWR.bin"
4. Save modified exe file
5. Create copy of your desired language file named "AllTextWR.bin"

Compile with csc.exe located somewhere in windows directory.

This solution should work at least with Russian ("AllTextRus.bin") and with
Polish ("AllTextPol.bin")

Действительно работает.
И главное что сетевая игры тоже работает.
Мне очень обидно, что я купил игру еще до выхода, сделал пред заказ, и купил из STEAM.
И в итоге я получил игру без русского языка.
А самое обидно, то что потом вышла русская версия этой игры, которая стоит где 5.7EUR, а в STEAM 15EUR.
вот к примеру тут http://plati.ru/asp/pay.asp?id_d=1143773 продают за 5.7EUR русскую версию, есть ли региональные защита или нет, я не знаю.

Я бы не имел претензии если бы купил русскую версию, которая стоит несколько раз дешевле и другие языки были недоступны.
НО покупая игры в STEAM, и заплатив за него полную цену, я в итоге получил игры где больше половина языков недоступно для выбора :(
Я даже писал в Steam Support с просьбой активации Русского языка, мне сказали что это невозможно и больше не отвечали.

Еще раз СПАСИБО ss1 за то что подсказал людям как можно активизировать удобные для них языки.
Так как я долго искал в интернете и негде не было про это ни слово.

That's extremely helpful. It definitely doesn't deserve a ban. It deserves plenty of praise. Customers will be able to play the game in their language without unexpected drawbacks.

Team17, now that you can see how easy it is to fix, please release an official patch which fixes this issue.

This is what I know. Polish and Russian languages were not in the game when it launched, we were approached and asked for these languages in boxed copies of the game that were just sold in those regions and these have their own Steam ID essentially it's a different game. However when these versions went live it also meant we had to update everyone elses copy of steam so they could see the text when playing with those copies online.

So I think we can't just make those languages available in the download version because of the agreements with the publishers of the boxed copies.

Won't Steam recognize the change in the .EXE file and re-download the original version?
That'll happen at least with every new update.

No idea bonz, I'm not a tech guy so I don't know how it works.

I was surprised that neither Steam version checking nor Worms file CRC checking reacted after my .exe changes. But that's true, new update will revert any changes. And until developers are not trying to prevent this, reediting exe after update should work well.
