1) /time, /t, /clock /c should be all valid commands to show current local time at least in-game, at the moment it is just /time. I know I should have suggested this before but whatever, I am now suggesting it.

2) Flash the white framework around the chat box once while in-game when adjusting the size of the chat box and you reach the "default" value. Maybe when it is set to the default height immediately (for say 50ms) flash the framework the same shade of gray as text.

If possible, rework the frontend in HTML or something else, so it won't look ****ty on every resolution higher than 640x480.

I guess this should be for 4.0, though.

I believe it is... although I don't know if it will be HTML...

I guess it would be easier to just rework the background, and just let the UI centered on every resolution, before 4.0 .

I updated my OP a little bit and would like to throw in this suggestion for replay files.

1) Add the following commands to in-game chat when watching a replay. /version /ver and /v. These commands will display what game version the replay was made by and what game logic was used within the in-game chat panel.

Isn't that info displayed on the game log though? Or not?

It is, but it would be nice to be able to view it while viewing the replay. Maybe display it under the player list on the right of the chat box?

How about this then? A tweak to switch the time command between displaying the local time in 24 hour format and 12 hour format?

You didn't think we can just TAKE the translations done by hard-working translation studios, neglecting copyright law in the process, right?

You didn't think we can just TAKE the translations done by hard-working translation studios, neglecting copyright law in the process, right?

I was thinking that is the same story like with previous, non-beta patches. Always we can just ask for example CD-Projekt in poland, if they wouldn't provide translation for a new patch. Or we can make our own, community translation.

CyberShadow
21 Nov 2010, 19:45
I believe someone had already tried asking CD-Projekt, and received no response. Community translations are possible, however (but we may need to check with Team17 first). See here (http://worms2d.info/Translation_project) for more information.

I have a number of suggestions but these are a couple of the simpler ones that I can remember!

1.
When its not your turn it would be great to be able to scroll around the map whilst the weapon box is open. This allows players to scan the map whilst checking which weapons are available, instead of having to close the weapon box in order to scan the map. This would be especially useful in schemes like Kaos, where players will collect many weapons and also have to scan the entire map intensely to plan their next turn.

2.
Many players tend to have a favourite colour they like to use each game, problems can arise when two (or more) players wish to use the same colour, especially in league games! It is sometimes confusing when you for example are playing as red, when you've played thousands of games as blue, sometimes even resulting in you attacking your own worms!

It would be great if players could choose whichever colour they like each game. If two players wanted to be blue, then on their own screens they would appear as blue and their opponent would appear as another colour. This may not seem like something worthwhile, but as a long time player Ive lost track of the amount of times where people have both wanted to use the same colour.

Would this be too hard to do? Would be greatly appreciated!

I noticed few things that will effect only Serbian players. Not new problems... just old ones that still persist.

1. In host/join lobby Serbian flag appears "dirty"... Blue color is not blue, and red is not red... both of them are going into kinda brown.
Strange is that flag near player's name in channel(#ag or another) looks perfect.

2. Keyboard layout for Serbian(Latin) and Serbian(Cyrillic) are both very badly done.

a b v g d ] e \ y i j k l q m n w o p r s t ’ u f h c ; x [ <- English keyboard

а б в г д ђ е ж з и ј к л љ м н њ о п р с т ћ у ф х ц ч џ ш <- Serbian Cyrillic

a b v g d đ e ž z i j k l q m n w o p r s t ć u f h c č x š <- Serbian Latin

Letters I bolded in post don't appear at all while typing in-game and can't be used for names of worms.

I guess that both problems are easy to solve. Ty for considering :)

EDIT and the thing that is most funny to me here is that "j" doesn't work in Cyrillic, but it's totally same letter and in totally same place as in English keyboard layout :)

Man, Serbian flag have same colors as Russian and many others, I am maybe not programming pro but I know that that can be fixed... I'm kinda map maker so I understand what color limitation is. It's just unfair that only Serbian flag looks like poo :\

btw I don't understand that character encoding limitations but I will believe you to the word that it can't be done... and I still don't see any difference in look with latin and cyrillic "j".

He means that the two letters look the same, although they have different meanings. And in this case that the Cyrillic letter is not available, the Latin one (J) could be used instead.
(I'm not sure about whether this has been done already in W:A or not)

StepS

Yes of course, much of the similar cyrillic letters can easily be replaced by the similar latin letters. Without making any codetable tricks and editing fonts file.

Simaltaneous artillery mode where all players make there move then the game plays them all out simaltaneously? Just like Scorched Earth! Also elastic borders, looping borders, bouncing borders etc. all from Scorched Earth should be added as border options!

Would be much cooler to have the game randomly choose from a set of audio files for each voice. For example, instead of "WatchThis.wav", you have "WatchThis 1.wav", "WatchThis 2.wav", etc. and the game picks one at random when the situation arises.

That'd be fun, but would require quite a bit of work. And if I remember correctly, the looping border allows the weapon explosion to affect both edges of map if the weapon exploded near one of the edge. I doubt worms will be able to support that. But for elastic/bouncing border, that might be doable, but I haven't seen the source code

While Worms 2D Feedback (http://feedback.worms2d.info/) is unavailable atm, so I'm forced to post my latest idea here (sorry, if it's already posted there, but I'm unable to check it now).

The idea:

-SIMPLE WAY- Add player's IPs to WA Logs, so hosters may BAN notorious quitters on their FireWalls.

-ADVANCED WAY- Implement it to the game itself with few chat /commands:

/lp (alt: /listplayers, /players) - (available only after at least one played match/round) will list all players in chat (even those, who left the match before it was finished) with auto-generated IDs and Status:

- ID - Nick - Status -

01 - GrO - host
02 - someone1 - quit: game
03 - someone2 - online
04 - someone3 - quit: lobby
05 - someone4 - disconnect: desynch
06 - someone5 - disconnect: net drop

/ban ID (i.e. /ban 02) - the meaning is obvious

COMMANDS AVAILABLE WHENEVER IN LOBBY (even before the match start):

/ban - entered without player's (temporary) ID will view actual Ban List in chat (no IDs in the chat-list, cause these should not be global, just temporarily generated after at least one match/round played only):

- # - Nick - IP -

1. someone1 - 127.0.0.1
2. someone2 - 255.255.255.255

Or kicking someone, who said the rules in the lobby, but had no idea, what they really are resulting with instant cowing.

I thought about that command long time ago and I'm sure it's already been posted at worms2d.info/feedback.

BTW

Isn't it possible with HostingBuddy games? I think I saw it few times, when host using HB kicked a player, but would be nice to have such ability without HB too.

Once the game has begun, there is no feature in HB or otherwise that will let you remove a player from the game forcefully.

Search the forum if you're interested in more information - This subject has been discussed a lot
