i've always been a fan of WA but what made it fun was the community.. so i guess what i'm asking is does worms reloaded have a decent amount of players that play?

I'm sure if new players are joining the others in Worms Reloaded you ill find great & talented ones to play against 'em.
Buy the game if you want to have funny moments. The single player caimpaign is huge more than 65 levels (story + warzone) plus infinite randoms ones.

I love that new release, but in fact I play more to the Worms 2 Armageddon PS3 version rather PC.

65 levels of repetitive boring deathmatch and pseudo-puzzles. :p If your standards aren't too low, and you have already played WA, you'll probably not enjoy Reloaded.

The community isn't that big yet but there are people enjoying this game a lot, creating schemes, maps and both fan- and clansites, pretty much all I added to my Steam friends list :p
As I said, surely not as many players as W:A has to offer, I doubt it's less than back in the days though, when W:A just released.

In short, no.

What! You in fact play W:R? You made it beyond the trainings and started playing online without collapsing? Well, I think I might forgive you for putting wrong informations about, then. Try to pay more attention next time tho.
