So today I was joining a shopper game, hosted by "Shoppa" a Russian player. I accidentally cowed in said game, aware of my mistake I was already planning to skip, and about to tell them that, when another Russian player starts shouting "KTC"

In my frustration at this hasty judgment I told said player "Shut-up *Insert Name Here*"

Then, the other players, (All of whom were Russian.) started calling me Yankee. Saying that their country, and I quote "F's the American flag."

Among some other very discriminating slurs. Now once the host left the game, and rehosted, I attempted to join under another name, not to cause trouble mind you, but because it was the only Shopper available at the time.

I was told "Go home Yankee." and promptly kicked. This isn't the first time I've been kicked from a game for being an American. There's a lot of discrimination towards me simply because of my flag. I wish I knew how to change it to a "?" like some people seem to have.

I have nothing against any country. In fact, Russian is among my top 10 favorite countries. I love their anthem, specifically the cover by Lubeh. This idiocy won't change my opinion of anyone.

Unfortunately, there's no easy way to hide an Americans descent.

If you using wheat snooper u can pick flag. Also you can change in regional option your timezone and location result is diffrent flag in game.

Usually, if there's a bunch of Polish or Russian people in a match I joined, I get called Hitler at an early opportunity. Are there any other German players around here who get the needle of this? :mad:

I have been discriminated MANY times....Im a "latino", thx god most of the ppl from USA dont know from what country my flag is, that is always an advantage xD
But, personally, I think, the Brazillians (BR) are the most racist in wormnet, anyway....

I agree, ignoring them is the best option....but, also, that kind of phrases are the main reason why some ppl hates USA and its citizens

jsgnext, yes, this is actual, at the moment I can only recommend you to change your WormNET flag. That's not so hard and is done in Windows Control Panel. Open Language settings, then change a Location to a different one. May help, but still need to be attentive.

After posting this I did some searching and found a website explaining this also. I changed my location to Russia, and hosted a game. What's funny is two of the players I was referring to joined that game. I let them play, didn't hold any sort of grudge, and they were all buddy buddy, and very friendly. It's funny and sad at the same time :)

It's a slightly broader, more long-term solution, but is known to work and makes the entire community a better place. Failing that, both WormNet and the game itself have neatly functioning ignore commands.

Another option is to not play public games at all.
Stick to a bunch of friends you know and organize the games elsewhere!

Sgt speaks the truth. It's far easier said than done. What if someone in a game just decided to start insulting you? You might not feel the same then.

The bigger problem would be that you could have a hard time finding a game that you aren't kicked out before it even begins.
Also, there are methods to kick players within a game too.

There are many racist players around wormnet....but they dont go that far....I have never been kicked in the middle of a game due to discrimination....

Your playing with the wrong people. There are a lot of good people on Wormnet, just sadly the not so nice ones get talked about more because they stand out.

Find yourself a group of friends, a clan or whatever that is full of like minded people. Then you wont have these problems.

I disagree, IMHO, they are public because they want to find someone else (that the host don't know) to play with.

However, I think they should state that the game is "Russian only" or "American only" etc. in the game name, don't they?

If they can increases the length of game names and have the entire name visible (or add a horizontal scrollbar) then people might include things like "XYZ type players only".

No offence, but imo the russians are the most unsympathic players of all, and they also quit too easily.

There you have it folks, 3.6.29.0 encourages people to kick randoms from there games due to the cascade desync bug. Kicking them before starting the game ensures you only play with people aware of the bug.

Ye, I even offer to teach them a little. But usually they just want to play, and don't care about learning.

Well then Hysteria is'nt the right scheme for them. I just tell them politely that it's a scheme where you need skills and a lil experience.
And that I can't let them join.
