View Full Version : Big fraud going on in the online leagues

I've already posted this on the Valve forums, but since it's almost the end of the month and we've had no reply from an admin yet I consider it my duty to post it here as well.

For the original thread see here:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1443317

To sum it all up:
This user 'nOd' has impossible stats. The amount of kills and damage done is far too small in comparison to the number of games he supposedly won. This may be coincidence, but when you look at the number of wins that got added to his totals in the course of two nights you'll see he's cheating:
The highscore of other extremely active players in games played in one day is around 30. Yet nOd added 77 wins in BnG league on saturday night and roughly 100 Pro wins + 25 BnG wins last night (for a total of 125 games in roughly 8 hours time!!!).
We suspect that these are all free wins handed to him by user 'Scorp1on77' who registered nearly on the same day as him on Steam and presumably they are one and the same.

Action is required here T17, this is ruining the online experience for a lot of players.

Unbelievable.

What a time consuming and worthless act.

Stats? Who gives a damn about stats, I don't see how they can ruin the online experience for a lot of players, unless you love showing off how much you are dedicated to this game.

Leaderboards, had, have, and will always have that issue, deal with it. Plus, there's technically nothing wrong with farming victories, so there's no reliable way to counter it. You have two people who thought it would be funny to waste their time in such a manner, wow big deal, like anyone cares.

That figures. And the rankings didn't make any sense anyway, even without that. After all, you simply gain a lot of points by playing a lot. People with a success quotient of 30% can have more points than people with 90% easily.

They should add this quotient instead of points - but with the current spawn points algorithm this wouldn't be too fair either - is there a proper way to see how good a player really is, at all?

I never had any issues with the way it was done on WA.

Easily? They need to be three times as active. Hard to do against a semi-active pro player.
I'm first in BnG, Fort and Crazy Crates.. well I was after nOd kicked in. But anyway, I can safely say I'm the best player on Worms Reloaded in those schemes except in Fort where I'm 2nd behind Larry (he's the master ;)). So yeah, I think the leaderboards are pretty decent when it comes to reflecting skill.

You could try playing against them. Novel concept, I realise; your mileage may vary.

I doubt that would work; said player might be ****ed by the weird physics and bugs.

It's more likely they don't even play anymore (why'd you do that if you cheated all your points and actually suck in Worms), or if they are actually still playing and rather good it's still unlikely to ever run into them.
