I have never beaten all of the single player missions with a gold award.
I was wondering if anyone knew if there is some type of reward for doing so?

No, nothing.
Everything you can get in WWP is already available right from the start.

(In WA you had to beat certain missions to unlock a few utilities and modes, but IIRC even there, gold medals were only necessary for the trainings.)

However yes, in WWP everything's unlocked from the beginning.

You achieve gold if you finish the mission without failing (means if you lose and start it again, you'll only achieve silver, if you failed 2+ times all you get is bronze). If you win it, your tries will be reset and you can try to do the mission again to achieve gold. Every time you lose you're forced to win the mission again thus you may play it to achieve gold. Quite annoying but well, that's how it is.

Err... what stuff? I haven't played the missions in quite some time, but I do remmeber that you specifically DIDN'T need medals in missions!

It's not only the trainings, but also those trial/racing levels, which are more or less just for training.

In W:A, completing all missions, training and all deathmatches (= Elite rank) is needed for getting Fullwormage.
The gold medals in those trial game modes are needed for unlocks only (which are all available right from the start in WWP in the Wormpot, BTW).

So... you don't get rewarded for achieving gold in all campaign missions?
