Hi,

I had several problems setting this game up to work with good colour on my windows 7 - now that the game works and the colour is fine I have a new problem: When I return from playing a game or training or mission..etc, the screen is just the basic blue with falling stars and none of the text is visible. I describe the screen as "hidden" because I am able to use the mouse and scroll over what would be there and click on it - like the button to start the game or mission again. (the exit button however crashes the game) So I am able to continue playing the same game but I wouldn't be able to return to the main menu. Also, similar to the screen that is hidden, the black text boxes that appear at the ends and beginnings of games have clear "ok" buttons but the full text is not visible, just a couple random white letters.

I read and answer in the troubleshooting that answered the question:
"When returning from a game, I get a black screen with some white areas" which said:

"This is a problem with DirectX for which a workaround has not yet been found. For some reason, the colour palette is set to two colours (black and white). To restore the colour palette, minimize by clicking at the bottom of the screen or pressing Shift+Escape, then restore the game."

- I tried this but I am unable to restore a minimized game, I read a couple of responses to this including:

"WA crashes when I minimise and then try to maximise

There are some known problems with minimisation in the front-end - such as if a message box appears while the game is minimised. Until those are fixed, there will inevitably be cases which cause W:A to crash while minimised or being restored."

and

" When I minimize the game, I can't restore it

If you are using Windows Vista/7 and running W:A "As Administrator" - don't. User Interface Privilege Isolation causes W:A to not receive certain messages. You can temporarily work around this and restore the game by using the "Bring to front" option in Task Manager, however the long-term solution is to set up the game in such a way that it does not need to run with elevated privileges."

I did everything I could based on these suggestions and still have the same problems.

Please Help.

That's pretty weird... Do you think you could post a screenshot of the problem? Especially where "just a couple random white letters" are visible.

What operating system are you using, and what video card do you have?
Are you running any unusual software, or software which you think might cause this?

As for unable to restore the minimized game - your problem is that clicking the taskbar button doesn't do anything, correct?
