Currently, in this very moment there's somebody called Ander occupying the ranked fort mode. He's just being there all the time, whenever I try to search for a ranked fort match. ANYWAY it's impossible to connect to him - the game says "Session no longer available" after 5 seconds. Furthermore he's being there for hours now and nobody's able to play forts (in my region at least)! Damn you matchmaking system!

A similar thing happened to me one day. There are so few people on these servers that you tend to meet the same people over and over again. This one guy was sitting in the Pro server for an entire day. I don't know if he left his PC on and went out somewhere but whenever you wanted a Pro game because there's so few people on the servers the chances were you'd go in his lobby and thus be stuck with someone who is either dead or away.

this is happening to me right now, but with 4 game types occupied. no one can play non-ranked games because Team17 was too dumb to put a "host game" button on a freaking PC game!

seriously. T17? who's in charge of your design team? I'll offer myself for the position. I'll do the job twice as effectively just as long as you lop off all of my limbs and keep me in a pool of beer....

Here we go again (http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/1817/screen034.png) - this time someone called "edgR" keeps us back from playing Crazy Crates.

Team17 do something! This is the most terrible match-making system ever!

There is a way around it, you can create a room of a different type if its not already up there i.e. create a "Pro" lobby and then change the game mode when you get in. People can now probably auto-join your Fort game or just join manually from the game list or even better invite them in.

Yes its a stupid way to get around something that should be working in the first place. I can't remember an online interface in any other game being this bad on release, its depressing really :(

One thing I have noticed is if you host a player match, after changing the scheme one time the option to change the scheme dissapears. Not sure if it's a glich or just another stupid feature. Also I have never seen the option to invite people in player games, you can only invite friends to a private match, which is also very stupid.

What? You can invite players to any type of match as long as there is room. I've invited players on my friends list to a standard 4 Player match a lot?

Odd, when I host a player match there is no "invite" button...

You should initiate the invite through Steam friends rather than the ingame private interface. Shift-Tab, go to your friends list, right click their name and go to "Invite to Game".

This sends the invite from which they can join by clicking OK when they receive it (sometimes the auto-join to the lobby doesn't work for them). Or they can go back to the Multiplayer menu and a new option appears underneath "Network Game" which allows them to join up.

Also I haven't noticed that bug where you cannot change schemes more than once, I've only had one game where I had to change the scheme twice because I accidently selected the wrong one and worked for me! Seems like things only work when they feel like it!

I have been experiencing a lot of glitches trying to host a game. No invite buttons, they don't receive the invites when there is a button... etc.

Beh, I have the same problem. I get time-out messages when I want to play fort. Because of this awesome 'only host yourself when there are no games present'-feature, I can not play fort!
The only game available is this game hosted by jere, which timed out obviously...

BAH!

Lynx, you can't use this same method for hosting Private matches. When you start a private match, you don't go to a nice empty lobby. You have to invite someone using the ingame interface right away. I play mostly private matches so I can use our custom schemes. But as it is now, hosting a private match for me usually takes 10 - 15 minutes JUST to set it up.

This private match hosting system is horrible.

I know you can't, that's why I'm using an method alternative until they fix it. And um you can use custom schemes in when you create a player game, you just have to change it after the lobby has been created. It'll probably work out much quicker this way.

You just have to be quick to invite your friends if people join or start kicking people you don't want (providing if that works as well  )

I've experienced the same thing two days ago. I wasn't able to play a ranked pro match because of some ".RaStAkiLLah." Even when you get this fixed there still should be a "host" button.
