Just got home and the game seems to be updating. Any idea what the update does? I don't know if Team17 posts info on the patches on the Steam forums or Facebook, but if someone knows you can post here info on any new patches and I'll edit this post so people on this forum can keep track on what is being updated, etc.

edit: Thanks, ivinsomnia.

Got another update coming either later today or tomorrow. Actually dropped on Friday 3rd September

Including in the install the DirectX files needed and some Visual C files (will fix some crashes on boot)

Fixed an issue with setting the region to Japanese

Should see improvements in navigation with pads, a few bug fixes gone in there (will need feedback on this one)

We have expanded the search region for lobbies, hopefully you should see more games now.

Fixed the issue where drilling/blow torching would sometimes cause the active worm to drown if you were on another worms head.

Also put a fix in that was causing a crash on some Nvidia graphics cards

Again, it's not a lot of fixes, but I would prefer to do regular smaller updates so we can track them better.

I know we added a couple more fixes but I'm at home now and can't remember what they were. I will update on Monday.

Update 3 is a very small update and we are uploading it now to Steam.

Enabled steam crash mini dumps to get additional feedback on the crash issues some people are experiencing. This will help us with a few still not able to launch the game.

Lobby search distance filter added so users can select from regional, far and worldwide. This is set to worldwide by default.

Added a time out on lobbies so that redundant lobbies won't be found in a search. Hopefully this will help with the spoiling tactics appearing online.

We have spent a lot of time this week looking at the ongoing lightbulb problems and we feel that we have already made some progress here. One of the problems was actually recreating the issue in the first place. We are hopeful now that we can get this sorted properly when we get back into work next week, but I'm sure you realise I can't promise an exact date.

Would love to have feedback on the search changes because it was not possible to check properly as the search does not show up different versions of the game.

Update 4 will hopefully be uploaded later today to Steam.

An adjustment has been made to the Jump key timing to make double jumping easier.

Additional fixes have been implemented for frontend navigation with game pads.

The Game Style name in the “Show Player Games” screen is now localized.

A fix has been added to ensure that Sentry Guns are always the correct team colour when placed in Online Multiplayer games.

A fix has been implemented to ensure that the ordering of players in the lobby is now consistent between all players. This should fix issues whereby player avatars did not match up with the correct names and also alleviate some of the issues experienced with the “Ready?” light.

The ability to create a lobby has added to the Multiplayer Options menu. This will allow players to host their own lobbies without the need to search for available lobbies beforehand.

We will really need feedback on the ready light situation, we have only been able to do limited tests in the office, so we will need to know if the situation has improved after this update.

We are uploading a new patch to Steam today that will hopefully fix a number of online issues.

Fixed an issue where when the host puts their light bulb on the clients revoke their ready state.

Old lobbies should no longer show up when a player leaves a game in progress.

Fixed an issue where the client can be thrown out of lobby

Fixed game crashing on client if the host returns to the lobby from a game first and puts their light bulb on before the client has entered the lobby.

Fixed a light bulb issue where the player would not actually be sending network messages when they enter the lobby so could never ready up.

Stopped the game crashing if the game starts with all players on the same team alliance. Note this does not stop the game from getting into that state it just stops the game from crashing. So the game will just immediately finish and return to the front end. (we are looking into how we can prevent this happening)

Adjusted the column sizes in the lobby list screen so Spanish and Italian text fits in better.

Fixed issue where sometimes private games would be partially setup as ranked so start game option would not be available

We now kill the voice chat when leaving lobby, so this should fix looping voices

You can now select custom schemes for player match setup

Fixed lobby creation failed messages happening so frequently.

We have also made a number of other smaller fixes that should make online play more stable. We really need feedback and any new problems reported please.

We are sorry it's taken a long time to get this build to you and we can't promise we have caught all the crash problems, but this should go a long way to fixing a lot of the reported online issues.

Next weeks plan of action is to follow this up with more lightbulb investigation.

A small update is uploading to Steam now. Nothing major to report, just a few small tweaks to the ready light and some housekeeping. So please don't get too excited, you probably won't notice the changes.

However, we are working on a bigger bug fix update which will include allowing the game to go back to the game lobby after successfully completing a round and further light bulb issues and the "waiting for players" hang.

Well I know that one thing it does is ensure that it mixes up the usernames and avatars 90% of the time now instead of the 50% it used to. Even happens the first time you enter the lobby now.

Has the roping been altered slightly in this update - it seems to swing a little easier to me or more momentum can be gained than before. Either way, I have no problems with the rope either way.

game-searching based on region now allows far-distant and world-wide searches, defaulted to world.

and some sort of mechanic to stop people from spoiling the online experience by hosting a game type and sitting while error'd or whatever..... though they STILL don't let us host more than one of each game type for some reason...

and I'm still waiting on chat!

Okay, the fact that we can now search Worldwide for games is great and much appreciated, means I can now find a game.
One thing I haven't seem overly reported though is that inviting Steam friends fails 50% of the time since the second patch. It kind of concerns me that someone from Team17 said that recreating the problem was the difficult thing. I mean hell, add me to Steam and I'll recreate it for you right now.

Anyway hopefully that will be sorted in the next patch.

EDIT: Just to add a bit more detail, after you've chosen the friends to invite and enter the lobby, sometimes the only button there is "Ready". There is no "Invite" or "Start Game" and that's when you know your friends won't be able to connect. My friends and I have a ritual now where they wait after they receive my invite for me to tell them whether it will work or not.

EDIT 2: Oh and if after playing one match you both stay in the lobby to have another, that match will almost certainly crash.

I've been having the exact same problems, me and a friend couldn't get a game going all morning, kept crashing/bugging out. The patch has made multiplayer with friends 10x worse
