The petrol bomb doesn't make enough fire...

The fire needs to spread out more like in Armageddon...

I agree with this and not just for the petrol bomb. I was amazed when I blew up my first oil drum in Worms: Reloaded. I expected devastation but unless a Worm is sitting right next to it it's unlikely to do much damage and the flames as we all know kind of shoot out in a single... missile and ignite when they hit the ground. It's not bad I suppose but still I do miss the old fire.

yeah. all the fire in this game is completely useless right now. hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Er... hopefully not. That would be like it is in Worms: Battle Islands (PSP demo) right now and it definitely destroys a lot of gameplay.

Er... hopefully not. That would be like it is in Worms: Battle Islands (PSP demo) right now and it definitely destroys a lot of gameplay......so you WANT fire to remain completely useless as it is now?

Who said it was useless?

Actually it just adds a little more action to the game, but to be honest I wouldn't use petrol bombs for the fire effects because then it's actually indeed almost entirely useless. Still, I compared to Battle Islands, the fire and oil drums shouldn't become that powerful as you described.

Maybe just a little more fire spreading out does the job.

Although it doesn't do much, I like the way it looks, I like the way it has this smoke effect also now, I think it would be nice with a little more damage though, or just spread out a bit more, this wouldn't be a great advantage to anyone really...

Well depending on how much they increased it obviously...

Who said it was useless?I did. as did the person who posted this thread and the person who replied to it before you got here.

Maybe just a little more fire spreading out does the job. which is exactly what we're discussing here? we even have photographic references on the first post to explain precisely the complaint being lodged here. the fire right now doesn't spread out very much. we would like it to spread a little more. just like the picture shows it has done in previous games.

That sounds like overpowered suggestions :p

That sounds like overpowered suggestions :phe's saying he'd like the old fire back. the fire people used for years and years without complaint? how does that sound like an overpowered suggestion?! it's been balanced for years!

The barrels seem about fine as it is (I never really did like the whole drums-can-cause-an-entire-area-to-be-impassable thing), but I'd have to agree about the Petrol Bomb. I don't see what the downside is to having it spread out more.

I think oildrums should cause mayhem. That's what made them so awesome.
Maybe if they at least added the ability to fish them with ninja ropes like in W4? :p

As for fire weapons, yeah. They are extremely useless. Even napalm strikes, fire will usually hit a worm one or two times before it manages to push him to the side, and because of the heavier physics the worm will no longer slide back into the fire, leading to extremely pathetic ammounts of damage.

leading to extremely pathetic ammounts of damage.I average anywhere from 6-9 myself....

So true! The impact is big, and the wind doesn't spread it at all..
All the flames are bunched up.. So I can't make firetraps, which makes me lose a lot of games :P

No no noooooo! God, that thing was so easy to abuse! I mean in offline matches and just really friendly matches its fine, but if you ever come up against someone who wants to play properly you WILL get a worm surrounded by three barrels at once on the first turn! It's like... well imagine a regular game, except that the barrels always spawned on top of to the worms instead of randomly.

One time a barrel did spawn on my head and I couldn't move at all. :X

its a bit disappointing, fire should spread out and last a while, on the note on it not doing as much damage, that's fine but it would spread more, and burn for a longer time(say 4-5 turns) then it has a point, and becomes a unique part of the game

BTW i lost the game writing this post

He says that the oil drums and fire should do way more damage than they currently do, this would be exactly as in W:BI and I HATE it because it let's you kill whole teams easily, so I disagree.

How the hell do you read an exact value from a phrase as vague as "way more damage"?

Fire weapons were always about activation denial and pushing worms into the water, there were better ways to cause damage even in WA unless someone was in a pit or something.

they're useless. they don't put down enough flame to even deny an area. I've yet to find the fire pit I can't just hop right over.
