View Full Version : Can Someone Explain Rank To Me Please?

So as I said in another thread I've never participated in online Worms games much in the past or many online games full stop in fact. I mostly play with my friends on LAN or whatever.

However I'm really enjoying Worms Reloaded online play and I seem to be pretty good at it so far but being a stranger to this kind of thing I have a few questions if anyone would be kind enough to answer (since the game doesn't have a manual and that help screen is no substitute at all).

I currently have a rank of around 100 but what does that actually represent?

I started playing Standard games but have now moved on to Pro, does winning Pro matches help your rank more than winning regular matches? Also does merely participating help your rank because I win most of the time and a friend of mine loses most of the time in ranked matches yet he still seems to be "climbing".

Hmm, there's definately more I'm unsure of but they will probably be answered by responses to the above.

Rankings are divided into Pro, Standard, Beginner and so on. If you win matches in Pro style it doesn't help you in Standard, there's no rank that summarizes all your rankings into a single one.

I'm not really sure if ranks represent anything. Since you win points by winning, no matter how weak your opponent is, but you can't lose points by losing, all depends on how much you play, ie ranks are actually useless to decide who is best.

If that would be the case, i would be awesome. Yesterday i was ranked #1 in Killerking and Damage done.

That doesn't mean i'm good, only that i play to much XD.

Exactly. The ranking sucks. We need proper win/loss/quitting noob stats.

And take into account win streaks, win/loss ratio etc...

It isn't fair that you can get top ranking just because you have lots of time to play.

Yes this knowledge has put me off bothering with it much now. Thanks for the answers though.

I agree with you, be nice to get changed but "casuals" dont want to know how much they lose, comes with the dumbing down of the rest of the game.

Tough poop. Why pander to them? Anyone who's afraid of having losses in their stats is a sore loser. W:R is flooded with noobs, I've only lost 2 ranked matches out of 20 so far. I would have no problem having my losses displayed. Even if I had only 2 wins and 18 losses.
