1) I have bought the full game, not pre-ordered.

2) I click "Play" on the games page in Steam Client.

3) I see a giant Team17 logo on a white background.

4) It crashes before it proceeds past the logo.

edit: I do not have a local.cfg so am presuming such a file is generated by the game when it loads properly?

Edit: Fixed, had to verify the game install and 13 files had to be re-downloaded. The game now works.

Just a note to anyone else experiencing this issue...

I ran into the same exact problem but verifying the files didn't do anything for me.

If this does not work for you as well try deleting/uninstalling the game and reinstalling.

This did the trick for me.

How do you "verify" a game installation?

Open Steam -> Library -> Games -> right click game in the list on the left -> choose properties -> 3rd tab -> 3rd option.

hi, my game crashes too after the most recent update but im able to start up the game. The crashing happens only after i fire my weapons. Does anyone here have the same issue or solution for it?

(P.S.: i tried verifying of the files and reinstalling the game but they did no miracle for me.)
