It seems we have a few threads about ninja ropes already, but rather than bickering and flaming over it. How about a good ol' fashioned poll?

None of the above. It's not perfect, but it just needs a bit of tweaking so the momentum behaves in a more desirable way.

Option for super rope for me.

I feel the current rope is balanced, but the option for a super one will allow those who wish to bounce and float around the ability to do so.

The current rope works absolutely fine, so leave it. A customisable rope is probably not a bad idea but I don't care for that.

I miss the old rope physics.

Either put it back, or better, make the customisable version (Maybe have it able to be set between 2 options, classic and new, for those schemes that ropers like me love.)

That could very well be the reason why the old physics will never work in WA.
It's a new engine, which directly influences the behaviour of the rope.
And I doubt that they'll rewrite the whole engine only for the rope to feel like in WA.

Surely, there could be some tweaks, as the momentum conservation does seem to be messed up.

WR/WA rope physics option would be best. If you want to play rope schemes, switch to WA rope physics. Otherwise, play with WR rope physics. But it's probably impossible to implement right now :-/

WA ropper-harcore-gamer dislike the rope
New players / oldschool worms 1 player love the rope

- Just suggest to let the actual rope + an "old rope mode"
- wait for T17 answer
- move on.

I'd like a Super Rope option IFF there's some big distinction for online matches that it's a Super Rope scheme. If it's just a regular option, then chances are high everyone's going to use it in their regular schemes and bring up the big problem W:A has with it. It's basically the same argument we had with the 8-worms thing, only in this case it's a lot more definite that it would hamper regular schemes if it became commonplace.

Well, last night after playing some more, I finally was able to put my finger on what's wrong with the rope.

In previous versions, you could shorten and lengthen the rope as you swing to use it in the same way you gain momentum on a swing-set. Now, you gain none (if any) momentum by doing this. Pressing left/right yields the same gains in speed as far as I can tell.

If this is fixed, the rope may not even need much further tweaking.

non of the options, IMO it doesn't have to be like WA rope, but it could use a little tweaking here and there.
