Hello folks, I know Team 17 have already said that Custom Soundbanks are "up to the feedback" or something. As in, with enough support it shall be added.

Personally, I'd like a custom soundbank option, though I stress 'option'.

I do think its rather dodgy to have a custom soundbank online because of the bandwidth involved, I sympathise there. However what if we make it like Team Fortress 2 where we have the option to download custom content? Meaning if we opt out of downloading custom soundbanks, we get either a base soundbank or a random chosen bank, or a 'secondary default' bank the team author has chosen.

This can add to the modability of the game while leaving the stability of the default banks for those with a slow connection, or the desire not to hear a possible 'abused' sound bank.

I want custom soundbanks, but with the online ability to opt out if possible.

I've posted this in the Steam forums, but think I'd get more direct feedback here though.

Yes. Yesssss. That'd be dreamy. I believe our teams can never have too much customization. More colors, while youre at it. Seems like all the menu hate floating around would be dealt with first, though.

Hunting about for any intel on the custom soundbank war was what brought me to the forums, actually. To please me, they dont even need go as epic as you describe. Weve been given but a smattering of all the fantastic voices theyve done over the years, and converting an old fave for use here would be so worth it even if I'd be the only one not hearing default. Simple support for it with a bank assembly tool and Im good to go.

if they dont take action, a user will certainly figure something out anyway, assuming they haven't already. We only stand to gain. I eagerly await!
