View Full Version : Multiplayer problems?

So far, I like being able to customize all my worms and stuff, and the singleplayer is pretty fun. I hate the rope though :(

But the multiplayer right now is godawful. I'm lucky if I can even get a game to work. I hosted 3 matches without much trouble, but I went to play a full game (4 players) and ran into some supremo problems.

1.) Two of the matches I tried to host were met by "Loading... please wait" for an indefinite amount of time. On the second match, it only finished "loading" after one or more players got aggravated and quit.

2.) After the player(s?) left only myself and one other player were able to continue playing, and even after that, it went one turn before getting "Waiting for other players..." for about 2 minutes, while we continued to use voice chat to talk about what was going on. I have checked my connection to make sure it wasn't lag from my end - it wasn't.

more on point 2.) «19:15:23» {@infurnus} point 2 was me joining your game sorry :(
Infurnus tried to re-join while we were mid game, got stuck in the lobby, and could hear me and my buddy talking

3.) In one lobby, all players had clicked the "ready" button, and reported it in the pre-game chat box, but one player's light wasn't on, and the game was unable to start.

So uh...yeah.

EDIT: and where is Shopper? This is mine and my friends' favorite mode

Crazy Crates is like Shopper but with more weapons. You can just make your own Shopper either way.

I've had this issue too. It happened to me when we were doing a 2v2 match. Right now, the ready button seems really buggy.

I made my own shopper scheme but for some reason it wouldn't let me have more than 1 worm per team and refused to accept my custom map ... "this map will not work for roper" was the message I got.

Ah...you created a rope race scheme. Just go to your scheme editor, pick up your scheme back, go to the third interface and select deathmatch as type of game. YOu should have selected, right now, exit points.

That stuff is what we beta testers reported them hundreds of times, I really thought they had fixed that already /:(

I hate the endless waiting for player message that appears on the screen. It's like the whole game freezes when that happens. You can't move mouse or access the chat menu.

What is the point of it?

That happens in W:A too, but it shows two monitors disconnecting then reconnecting in the corner. What it's there for is to make sure the game state is properly synchronised between players to ensure everyone sees the same action happening. This pause is larger when there is higher latency between players. Think of it as lag compensation.

A really annoying problem is that say you play a multiplayer match with a scheme that says the first person to win three rounds is the winner, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't it just kicks you back to the lobby after the first round and everyones names and avatars are all mixed up in the list on the left. This only happens in multiplayers never single player custom games or anything and it basically means there is a 50% chance you won't be able to have a full game. Highly annoying and I'm amazed the game was released with an issue as blatant as this.
