hi everyone!

just thinking..whether it's a good idea for t17 to make our worms wearing somekind of costumes like battle vests, jackets...etc

I mean- hats are nice and fun(no argue about that)!
just to make the worms more....soildiers or whatever in our minds.

so..what do you think guys? (or it's just me) :cool:

I know worm customisation has been the most requested feature for many years now, but really, Worms is glorious in its simplicity. Hats are okay, I suppose, but if we start dressing them up, what next? Unlock (or buy) bigger and better items to adorn them with? We'll turn the game into Gaia Online or something if we venture too far down this road.

I think that if they're giving us 70 hats, so they have a good reason for making our worms to look more colorful.

So maybe they can take it one step farther.(although it's been before on previews games-I wasn't a big fan of the 3d's titles much.)

(lol -gaia online..)

In Worms Battle Island (Wii & PSP) there are backpacks and masks for your worms to wear in addition to hats.

But clothing on a worm?
That'll always be a sock. :rolleyes:

A lot of it is that it's far harder to make clothing other than hats for Worms. Because they're 2D and animated, having any sort of lower clothing would generally require individually animating the actual clothing to make it fit. Whereas with hats, because the tops of worms' heads barely change at all - beyond rotation - there's no need for anything more than a still image.

There's a special worm style to only add collars of clothings - that would be nice :)

Left picture shows a worm with a cardigan collar (available as back in Battle Islands, couldn't get a screenshot though), right one a worm on a cover, just for example.

Hmmm I wonder if team17 will share their thoughts about those masks & gloves' or maybe they're fine with just hats

Or perhaps TF2. :P

Tbh a worms RPG element would be the best for these hats and costumes, a bit like TF2.

Soldiers Helmet:
Reduces damage taken by 5;
--
Also reduces accuracy by 5%;

Boxing Gloves:
Increases Prod force by 20%;
Increases Firepunch damage by 15;
--
Less effective using guns;

Heavy Flak Jacket:
Reduces all damage taken by 20%;
--
Movement speed reduced by 40%;

Gas Mask:
Immune to poison effects;
--
Reduced screen visability;

Reduced visability as in the screen goes blured at distance from the worms position

YOU KNOW ITS A COOL IDEA! :cool::cool:
Ahh, one can dream ;)

That would be an interesting idea to add as an option - Hat Effects. Of course, most people wouldn't play with the option turned on to preserve the balance, but it'd be similar to wormpot - extra ways of play for those that want it.

I want to play the game with my worms looking the way I want and not the way the game forces me to dress them because otherwise my team gets weaker or something...

It would be great if there was WormPot, imo. Team17 doesn't make a new one because it's not used that often anyway. At least they said so, I didn't use it very often in WWP, too. but in Worms3D/Forts/4 it was almost indespensable.

No to hat effects, a very strong no. Hats should be only for customization purposes, not affecting gameplay.

Have to agree with Thurbo here. I want my team to look the way i want, not the way it's the most efficient.
