Seriously? No Russian Language? I hope it's some kind of error like it was with BFBC2 - on steam page (http://store.steampowered.com/app/24960/) was not lisetd Russian language, but in fact it was.

Well, no russian texts, but expect russian voice pack for the worms itself. Maybe they'll add more languages with patches.

Well, i know of only one Worms game that has russian language. Worms Armageddon and that was only added recently in a beta patch. So i don't think that russian texts are high priority.

Well, i could care less about german texts too. I prefer english texts. Worms 1 had english texts and i'm used to them. I prefer to play games in their native language if possible, which is mostly english.

Well, even if it didn't support Russian, you can always play in English. Your english seems to be pretty good.

By that gauge every game should have a Brazilian and Polish translation too. :p

I don't think it's that big a deal to be honest. Back when my English was nearly non-existant I still played every game (and therefore English) I could get my hands on and I didn't have much trouble. Gameplay transcends language.

Are you saying that the explosion in Russian players has nothing to do with us adding Russian translation and Cyrillic characters in the previous Beta update? :)

I just remember, when I was younger a game called Croc 2 was one of my faves. Anyway, though you didn't need any reading comprehension for playing, it was in English and I couldn't figure out how to save (I don't know why I didn't ask my parents to help me :p, I probably thought you just can't create a save file).

Possibly, but the explosion keeps going while the beta patch came out 2 years ago (gawd has it really been that long?). Plus you're one of them, how can I trust you to be unbiased? ;)

The main reason to add Russian language it's the involvement of Russian players to buy this game. They already playing in hacked beta-version.

P.S. На большинстве трекеров можно удалять раздачи по просьбе правообладателя. Я бы мог заняться этим в свободное время.

English is nice language. Just learn it (or let your friends learn it) like 80% of others who are not natively speaking English. You'll need it.

You wrote OP incorrectly - it shouldn't be like "WTF? How come there is no Russian?!" but more like "As I've recently noticed, it seems like Russian language isn't implemented..."

Thats not what I'm talking about. This is not a game that requires a knowledge of English - it's not RPG or something like GTA/Mafia. But Russian lang support will impact positively on sales.

25 August Russian players will choose: buy English version for 20 bucks or download Russian version from torrents fo free.

P.S. Some games sold in Russian at special sliced prices. For example: Mafia 2 costs only 25 bucks (PC version).

Let them, it was a stripped down version after all. Only multiplayer, not all game modes, only one landscape scheme and other things that are missing from the full version.

Bloody pirates will use torrents anyway, no matter if the game's translated to Russian or not. Invalid argument :p

I know a funny story recently happened, about a publisher (I forgot which one) that decided to sell a game pack for a price customers were allowed to choose themeselves for a certain period. However all money gained would be sent to a welfare organization or something, IIRC.

Now the incredible part: It turned out that about 70% of the people wouldn't even pay just ONE SINGLE CENT to get those games legally! Instead, they all downloaded pirated versions. What a bunch of dopes, who are also responsible for stuff like Ubisoft with its annoying copy protections.

And you think that those sort of people are an asset for an online game's community? Have you seen what happened to Worms 4 Mayhem and, in part, Worms Armageddon's WormNet?

Because maybe some people don't have the convenience of buying stuff online all the time?

I dunno.

Like what has been said this game currently does not hold RUSSIAN as a text language, it has German,Spanish,French, Italian and of course English.

As for a patch, this could only happen if they get a lot of requests for it because 1 person seriously will not make them add it - you need like at least a quarter of the people that buy the game.

BTW Ubisoft has learned: R.U.S.E. will not use the Ubisoft protection (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=4821071447&m=7471048678&r=7471048678#7471048678).

(A game that popped in my mind was SOLDAT, the dev allows you to pay w/e price you want for the game as 1.5.1 will release soon, though the min price is like 1-3$(Not sure) still cheap)

Well assuming most of the "gamers" are between 12-17 + years, therefore no paypal/creditcard / or financial problems => Download much?

Well anyway I don't remember any game to die out because it had no buyers due to the fact that the game didn't support let's say a language like Russian or German. Even if you will download the game you will not PLAY MULTIPLAYER, get BONUSES, get nice easy UPDATES or achievements etC. ( not referring to you, but in general)

Fortunately German is supported :)))*

Financial problems never justify stealing, at least not if it's something superfluous like video games...

12-17 year olds shouldn't know how to download pirated games either.
I'm also 16, my father used his bank account to buy the game for me and I paid it back in cash, I don't see a problem there.

Allow me to reiterate Thurbo's point in a clearer way:
25 August Russian players will choose: buy English version for 20 bucks or download Russian version from torrents fo free.
The alternative, that Team17 did shell out the dough for a Russian translation:
25 August Russian players will choose: buy Russian version for 20 bucks or download Russian version from torrents fo free.

The only people I really see this actually affecting are the people (who do want to buy the game) who understand Russian but no major European language, and the people who understand Russian and can speak a major European language but just really hate listening to them.
Which I'm guessing really isn't much.

Also, any chance you could refrain from discussing piracy itself here? Nothing against discussing it normally, but this really isn't the place for it.

I know what you mean to say, but problem is that leaked beta is allow to play multiplayer

You're right. Let's stop discussing piracy and return to the question - why all the modern games support multiple languages?

Little tip: because it increases demand.

Well I said "shouldn't". I know in reality that's not the case, unfortunately...

The problem is, there are two groups of players: People who buy games legally (like me), and pirates who don't. Since developers and publishers take increasingly intensive measures against piracy, and pirates always find a way to elude them, the only people suffering from all this are we law-abiding players (and of course publishers who need to spend a lot of money, as well as a handful pirates who get caught).

It's not fair. I've preordered the game with hope that Team 17 will add russian language in future, but they still do nothing. In Russia have already begun selling official russian version so if I wonna play on my language I need to create one more steam account and buy one more copy of WR :((

The hell?! That's pretty stupid, couldn't Team17 just add Russian by a patch?
